Total Watts

  1. These are Aurora strings, 40-100
  2. That’s awesome to see that early sketch, didn’t change too much in the end
  3. Sadly the video files we have of this bass are too large to upload but here’s a link to our Facebook page where you can see it https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1CTLc7Rn87/?mibextid=wwXIfr Here’s more pics of the finished bass
  4. Whilst we still have a handful of jobs left to do to fully finish the Nick Smith Midas, today saw a massive step forward seeing the frets leveled, crowned and polished, electronics wired and fully assembled and strung! We heard her voice for the first time today and the pairing of Aguilar Amplification HJ pickups and two band cut/boost preamp are sounding sweet! It feels bittersweet that Nicks vision has reached this point yet he won’t be able to see it or make it sing 😢 She’ll now be given some time to settle before setup and the last few jobs completed at which point we’ll tie down and announce the details of the charity raffle!
  5. This weekend saw the Midas neck sanded up to 400 grit and the fret board to 1000 grit, evo gold frets cut and prepped and pressed into the fretboard, ends trimmed and left for the glue to set, next weekend will see the frets leveled, crowned and polished 💪
  6. More progress today, putting the side dots into the fretboard, fitting the fibre optic strands and glueing the fretboard to the neck
  7. After a few weekends off from the workshop we made some progress today! The fret board was machined with the channels for the fibre optic side dots in the underside of the board. The headstock face was then machined with the fretboard clamped in place to get the smooth transition 👌. Tomorrow we’ll add the side dots then run the fibre optics 🙌
  8. We spoke to Nicks sister today, Nick family are putting on a memorial concert in Peterborough on the 7th September and wants to draw the raffle then so I’d imagine we’ll start selling tickets 4-6 weeks before then
  9. The Nick Smith Midas charity build has taken another step forward with the high gloss finish being completed by T-Dog Customs. Toby is part of the Jaydee Bass family who all knew and loved Nick. Toby has very generously completed the finishing work on the body for free and we’re so pleased his work will be part of this special build 😊
