Might be worth a look at Tonerider pickups, their sound samples are very good and they're similar pricing. They're what Andyjr1515 of this parish puts in his builds - Alnico IV Classics, I believe.

Genius.
-
Excellent work - really good job.
-
Last time I looked the app was split in to the Bass Heads and the pedals.... not all the pedals were available for the bass heads.
-
As far as I know, delays and reverbs aren't available for the heads - they weren't last time I looked. You'll probably do what most people end up doing - loading up the Spectracomp and leaving it at that!

I like the boutique explanation.

That looks like a really badly cut nut. The spaces between the strings should all be the same, (not string centre to string centre 'cos of the different thickness strings) and your G string looks far closer to the edge of the fretboard than the E.
I'd get a new nut cut to even out the string spacing and bring the G string in.That'll give you what you want and make it better to play. -
I've just come to a similar conclusion.... and I think it's down to wanting inspiration. I often think a new guitar or bass is going to inspire me to different and/or better playing, but I've just found out that it's a temporary feeling.
So... I've re-strung my strat with heavy-bottom 10's and down-tuned to Eb, and I'm loving playing an learning (and re-learning) loads of Stevie Ray Vaughan songs.
GAS has gone. -
Absolutely stunning... just lovely. I tip my hat to you, sir.
Now... what's the next build that I can follow, please? -
A new nut with the string slots cut closer together and adjust the string space at the bridge saddles if possible. However; the neck would still be the same width and so the top and bottom strings would now be further from the fretboard edge so you would get a different 'feel' which you may or may not like.

Not a great second hand market, one would've thought.
-
That's really good.

What's wrong with a piece of gaffa tape stuck to the grill cloth in front of the dust cap? That's what I used for years in my guitaring days. Worked a treat to stop the on-axis beaming.
-
...it'll probably fall off!
-
The OP's gone suspiciously quiet. I think this may be a scam - i'll report it to the mods!
-
ooo - that's nice, that is.
-
Looks great - I hope it was dry before you put it on the chair!
-
Damn! That's really nice, but I don't need another £45. GLWS.
-
On a similar theme.... I'm very right handed. I can hardly stir the soup with my left hand, yet I can do all the twiddly fretting stuff with my left hand.
How is this possible? -

Here you go, https://www.youtube....h?v=cLCAjcm84Ss worth a try!

That's really good to know. However; I think I'd wear gloves if it does that to paint! -

Sounded good on Cliff Bennet's version...

The only Beatles cover that I prefer to the original.
(n.b. I said "I prefer" not "is better than". Should save me from a tongue lashing by someone.... hopefully!) -
How d'you remember what knob does what?

Thanks again for kind words . Next mission, being a 'cheapskate' I am going to build a radiusing jig to route concave fingerboard sanding blocks. A one off at £20 ish is ok, if I build other radius fingerboards it is not tenable. Have to consume all this oak strip flooring I have

These any good? -
Glad he's got his priorities right. All the best Rick - family comes first.
