Before I spend a lot of money on different sets of DR strings I would like to get some advise for a 5-string set.
So here are my wishes/ingredients:
- Starting with 0.40 maximum on the G
- Hex core or round core?
- Roundwound is a must
- I want a good slap sound on the B-string (for example Something Got Me Started - Simply Red & Sledgehammer - Peter Gabriel)
- Nickel or Stainless?
- Normal or taperwound?
- 120, 125, or 130 B-string?
It's for this bass:

I hope you guys can give me some advise with this info.
Thanks in advance!
I use these strings for a long time and I am very happy with them.
They always sound fresh out of the box and really hit the Mark King tone.
The only problem is that they produce a lot of side noises/resonance.
Not with the strings open but with the fretted notes. Has anyone have the same experience?
It's not the usual rattle offcourse but real resonance/side noises.
Any other 30-90 stainless brands that you can recommend?

Hello,
Can anybody please tell me wich bass Mike Porcaro used on the Livefields album?
It can be a Peavey or a Musicman but can't figure it out exactly,
Thanks
