1. Update: 2 August 2013

This cabinet is now dismantled and I have a box of parts for spares which I am happy to sell although if you want shipping it won't be speedy as going on holidays soon.

Pick up much preferred although could look into shipping if it was a few items together.

There are three 4 ohm speakers in good shape £15 each
There is one 4 ohm speaker with a crease on the central cone £10

The cab was 375W program rating so I guess each speaker is about 70 -100W rating

There are pair of side handles £10
Tweeter £15
Crossover £10
Jack Panel £10
8 Corners £5
Feet £5
Wadding £5
Grille resprayed silver £5

2. Great to deal with Tom on a recent speaker purchase. I Had difficulty making arrangements at my end but Tom stuck to his word and the deal was eventually sealed.

Very considerate person and provided excellent opportunity to check out the gear being purchased and really encouraged me to check it thoroughly before accepting.

Could not recommend more.

PS provided chat, tea and biscuits (Ginger Nuts) so what more could you ask for.

3. I hope it's ok to list cases in this section?

I have a very solid flight case for my Hohner B2A for sale. It's a very solid case and in good condition although I don't have the key.

The interior is shaped for two (a brace of) Hohner B2A bass guitars. I wanted a B2A a few years ago to help a bad back situation. Strangely when I found one to buy it came as a pair in this case previously owned by a Gothic metal band of some repute called the "Whores of Babylon". So I bought the pair, sold one, kept one and ended up with a case that I don't need.

It looks like a good guitar case is over £100 new so I suggest that £50 for a second hand one is fine. I guess the case could be altered to fit an electric guitar.

Collection from Bristol is best.

I guess shipping is an option but it I am not sure how much that would be £10-£20 I suppose

4. Hi, got a great bass stack for sale here. This is the Marshall MB450H head and corresponding cabinet MBC15 plus high quality speakon interconnect. Amp has two voicings: one nasally one for modern RnB tone and a warmer channel for rock and deep reggae using one ECC83 tube. and the neat bit is there is a blend control for merging the voicings. Very versatile and actually quite light weight and easily powerful for most gigs. Google the specs and reviews there is usally loads out there. Also Marshall site has the PDF manual.
The history to this one is that I bought it as a back up amp a while back but haven't needed it and really it is just taking up too much space. Condition is a bit scuffed around the edges but the tone more than makes up for it and the amp hasn't been pushed at all.

Currently listed on gumtree for £300 but will take £250 from a BassChatterer.

Not interested in trades sorry.

5. Hi Just bought a faulty QSC RMX450 Power Amp from Stevie. Payment completed very quickly with updates all along the way. Delivery arranged and unit arrived exactly as promised well packed, precisely as described. Opened the unit up to start tracking down the fault and again the description of the inside of the amp was completely accurate.

Thoroughly recommend the BassChatter to do biz with.

6. Here we have an Ashdown combo for sale. It's the 12" speaker version 180 watt combo with no compressor. I got this off a friend as it had stopped working and as I am a bit of an amp tech on the side managed to get it working quite easily. Just a little pre-amp opamp that had decided to go wrong other than that this amp should be fine for future use.

So all repaired I have a very good condition combo that's easily good enough for practicing with a drummer and perhaps small gigs.

Collection only from Bristol area, thanks for reading.

I am looking for £150 for it.

7. Hi I have been asked to sell this DB for a friend of mine, who is not so plugged into the internet.

He bought it on offer for about £400 probably about ten years back. It has been well played for a while but in the past few years gathering dust and taking up room as he switched over to drums. As you can see it has some ding on it but it plays well as far as I can tell and has a Fishman pickup added for plugging into an amp or desk.

I am wondering if anyone can tell me how to identify the manufacturer and suggest a reasonable second hand value and best place to sell.

Many thanks
Mike

PS: Hopefully I have attached some images - not too sure

8. My function band is comprised as follows

two vocal mics
two brass mics
guitar with mic if needed
keys and bass DI
We have a 1k PA, FOH and monitor mix onstage and lots of lights.

We can do setup in an 60 - 90 mins. It's always easier when you are familiar with the venue I find . . .

9. My first amps were HH - A Valve Sound guitar combo which I used for bass. It had two 12" speakers and seemed to give a very deep tone though in hindsight I suspect that was my own lack of experience. Later on I had a 100 watt bass head probably called a B100 - I found it lacking though it could have been the speaker.

I am not sure either of these amps were all that very good but I was distracted by the green light up display panel.

20 years on and I repair amps as a sideline hobby and I recently came across three amps for repair. IC100, VS Musician (100w guitar head) and Bassman 100. You can read about some of the common faults and praise I give for their construction on www.amploft.co.uk. Sounds wise I personally don't think they have the depth of sound that we are used to today this is my observation from bench comparison against each other and against some others from Yamaha and Peavey that I was also working on.

The green panels are great

10. Hi there, joined the forum ages ago but forgot to introduce myself.

I have been playing bass for about twenty years in originals, tribute / function bands upto audience sizes of a few hundred. Favourite players include bootsy, james jamerson, jah wobble and paul simonon.

I Use Fender precision and Jazz basses through a Peavey Firebass and 410 cabinet with EBS compressor, Boss Synth pedal and RAT distortion. Also have a hohner B2A and Aria shortscale les paul shaped thingy which is very pretty. Have a cheap Legacy electro acoustic too. Use a pandora for practicing which is invaluable.

Wouldn't say I was a particularly good player technically or have good ears but I enjoy playing the bass and put a lot of energy into the performance.

You can hear some recordings and see pics here
