1. Thank you for the input guys. looks like it will be a good swap.

I currently don’t use the DI on the peavey. However I will be using it a lot on the Hartke due to my up coming gigs all insist everything is DI’d.

Have you ever had a sound man have a problem with the Hartke DI?

    Cheers,

  2. Any body got one these?

What are they like for reliability?

I am thinking about swapping my peavey firebass for one as I will be getting a Barefaced compact soon and I want more watts at 8ohms. Plus its about half the weight!

What are the pros and cons for the LH500?

    Cheers,

  3. My set up is in the forsale section. Peavey firebass 700 = 700watts @ 2 ohms. 475 @ 4 ohms and a trace elliot 4x10.

With a good 4x10 I'm not sure you will need a 1x15 as well. But its up to you.

I used to play Linkin Park and limp bizkit style band. This rig had plently of power and volume.

I found this was a very good set up for playing in a rock band. You can have both for £400 if you want it. :)

  4. Peavey FireBass 700.

I have this one about 3 years now. No problems, usual wear marks and in perfect working order.

I am looking for £220 ono for this head so I can put the money towards an Orange Terror bass!

    700watts @ 2 ohm, 475 @ 4 ohm, 275 @ 8ohm

    Weight: 50lbs.

This one can be shipped at the buyers cost.

    Paypal or cash on collect.

Due to the weight of the cab shipping is not an option. I will deliver up to 2 hour drive or 118 miles from DA9 for £15.00 or you can collect.

    Any questions please ask.

  5. Thank you for all the response guys.

I don’t think I will worry about it. The cabs is in great condition never sounds distorted or anything.

I will be putting this rig up for sale soon. Just got to take a few pics of them.

I need to make way for the Hartke LH500 and a Barefaced compact that is on the shopping list. :)

  6. Hi Guys n Girls,

For some reason my clip light keeps coming when playing gigs or rehearses.

The amp is a Peavey Firebass 700 (the Red n Black one) and the cabs I have owned was a swr 6x10 rated a 1000watts at 4 ohms and now I have a Trace Elliot 4x10 300 at 8ohms and a Ibanez SR500 active. The light used to come on on both cabs.

The volume is only ever at 11 o clock and the input is at 12.

    Bass is at 10
    Mid at 11
    Mid shift 2
    Treble at 2

Any idea to where I am going wrong?

    Cheers,

Also, don't turn off the DDT protection, it will stop the aforementioned DC clipping blowing up your tweeters. Over powering will kill your woofers.

Easy to move it not the first thing that springs to mind with that head and cab though.
Thanks for the input guys.

Yea the head is very heavy. I find it very hard to pick the Trace Elliot up to go up the stairs. I thought the two peaveys would be lighter (carry on there own obviously). I do like alot of the light weight gear that’s out at the moment but I just can’t afford it.

    Cheers,

  8. Hi Guys,

Can 2 2x10tvx’s handle the 700watts my peavey fire bass head pushes out?

Currently running a Trace Elliot 4x10 300 watts @ 8 ohm. My head runs that at 275watts. Not looking for it to be louder just thought maybe two together would do the same job but be easier to move?

    Cheers,

    Ben

  9. Hi Everyone,

Since joining this forum I have been very curious about this bass cab company.

I need to replace my very heavy Trace Elliot 4x10 1048H. I am also looking to get a Markbass little11 head.

I know that Markbass head is good I have heard them and played through them so I don’t mind parting with my cash for one.

Now the BareFaced gear seems a little too good to be true. If they are good then I will go for the Big One. Seems to do everything I need and be very light.

I can’t seem to find any reviews, well only one but that was for the compact and not the Big One.

Can anyone vouch for these cabs or recommend another?

    Thank you,

  10.
Not really, just depends what you're comparing them to, of course a Peavey or Ashdown MAG are going to be much cheaper, but just a quick search online and I can see EBS is £649, Mark Bass is £695, Aguilar is £599, etc.
I am really thinking about buying one of these and and markbass head.

I am currently running a peavey firebass and trace elliot 4x10. Its only running at about 270watts but I do love the sound. I am looking for a light weight rig that can handle a 5 string bass and enough volume too cut though the mix.

  11.
If you put a 4 ohm driver in that combo you won't be able to drive a second cab as you'll push the amp lower than it's min impedance and that will make Bad Things happen. I wouldbn't bother replacing the driver at all, just get a 2x10 cab to go with it if that's what you want to do :)
Thanks for that. So what ohms should the second cab be

    Cheers?

  12. Hi Guys n girls,

I need to replace my trace elliot 4x10 1084 and peavey firebass 700 head, the size and weight is slowly getting to me.

I am thinking about changing over to a Ashown MAG-C115-300. Getting one second hand and changing the speaker to a 4ohm neodym speaker and finding a 2x10 cab for bigger venues.

Maybe something like this for the speaker?
