1. Oh my god! Both is true! (apart from the T thing, i only have 1 because im wierd lol) (really) And yeah its my bass actually in the wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shergold_Marathon
2. Thanks for the warm welcome, people
3. Ive got a shergold marathon 4 string bass (its the mk.1 model, as it has the stereo/mono selector switch). has bad peeling but plays very well. One thing to look out for is that the electronics on the old ones sometimes die (the pots on the dials, and the 1/4" jack are the main points of failure) "Yes the E string does seem a bit close to the edge (so don't push it!)" The nut broke on mine so the G string now hags off below the fretboard.... My serial is 6523 by the way. The serial numbers for marathons are mostly wrong, dont trust what the site says (i emailed the bloke and he said the exercise book where they wrote down the serial/batch details in the factory got thrown out?)
4.
Dead electronics ? Let me know where you dumped it and watch the Grumble do a bit of bin-diving Welcome to BC buddy
I have still got it, its a shergold marathon (Mark 1, i think, because it has the stereo/mono slider switch) The nut kind of died too, the G string hangs off of the fretboard.... Im working on fixing the electronics, i believe it just needs a new jack socket, its just i dont really have the time atm.
5. Hey guys, my name is James and im new here, currently living in Dundee in scotland. Been playing bass a year or so (im not that great, but im learning ). Um, equiptment wise i have a bass with "Shine" written on it, it actually plays (and sounds) very nice - oh and a 50w peavey amp. I used to have an old shergold bass (crazy 70s thing) which was really nice but the electronics died on that. So anyway, Hi!
