1. Hey folks. I have a Yamaha BBT210 that's now surplus to requirements and needs a new home. These are decent enough cabs to start with but this one has been upgraded with a pair of Faital Pro 10pr300 16 ohm neo drivers making it a 600 watt 8 ohm cab. I put this together whilst I was waiting for a suitable Berg AE 210 to turn up, finally sorted one of them so this has to go. I had a single FP driver at home in another cab so i bought another driver and fitted them both in the Yam. No butchering or rewiring was required so it looks stock but sounds way way better than before. It's fairly lightweight, roughly the same as the Berg AE at approx 40lbs give or take. 4 gigs on the cab up to date, condition is very good for it's age, no rips or tears in the carpet covering. I've de badged it but will send the badge with the cab. Pics to follow soon as it's at the studio. I'm asking £175 plus UK only shipping, ( £175 collected from Preston) the drivers were £180 alone. Priced to sell hopefully, great little cab that sounds not a million miles away from the cab that's replaced it.
2. Hey Folks, I bought this last week to save me the hassle of restringing my Limelight P Bass every time I want to switch between rounds and flats (which is often) but sadly for me I can't get on with the P Bass width neck. My Limelight has a Jazz neck to clarify. Gutted really as it's a cracking Bass with great tone and it's also very good quality. Japanese Ash body I believe with a very nice Maple neck with a hint of flame. Condition I'd say is excellent for a 1981, the finish on the neck is not showing any play wear at all, remarkable really. The Bass has had a recent fret level and set up, all the frets look mint. A couple of very minor marks on the body, the rear has a slight hint of buckle rash in one small area but none of which has broken through the poly finish. I think I'm right in saying that if this was a year later it would have said Squier on the headstock and had a JV serial. I've owned a few P Basses over the years and the quality, fit and finish is as good as I've seen. I honestly cannot fault this Bass and it would be a keeper if not for the neck being a little to wide for me to play comfortably. The nut is 42mm I'd like to get most of my money back (as you do) so the price is £315 inc UK shipping, fully insured. £300 collected or I'm happy to meet up within reason. Cheers. 3. Hey Folks, Two pretty much mint condition AE112's with padded Berg Covers for sale. I fancy going down the Bergantino 2 x 210 route so i thought I'd test the water with these. Pic of one cab shown, the other is in exactly the same condition and I'm happy to send pics of that on request. They are the later revision with metal corners. I'll accept a little bit less than what I paid so they're £400 FIRM each, (I'm happy to sell one or both) collected from Preston, Lancs or posted at cost. I'm more than happy to meet up within reason. Cheers. I'll only accept trades on Berg 2x10 cabs + cash if necessary your way for the right ones.
4. Hi folks, Thought I'd share this if ya ain't seen it. Jo Harman covering "Ain't no love in the heart of the city" Some nice upright playing on this, great band as well. It's the same guy who does the John East P-retro vids, apologies to you sir, your name escapes me but lovely playing all the same. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMhIQoL4zbU
5. Hi folks, Can anyone identify this Bass, my gut says it's an early G&L before the funky headstock shape. Yes, no. Thanks in advance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXxsPZ-wpCs
6. Hey Folks, I'm putting my SVT 7 pro up for sale as I need funds to buy a 2 ohm stable head. i've owned for nigh on a year and it's done every gig barr three since owning it. Maybe I've been a lucky one, not sure but this example has been steady as a rock with absolutely no issues whatsoever. Condition is mint, I've babied it since owning it and it's been racked since the day I bought it. it's a pretty versatile head, 1000 watts at 4 ohms although to be honest I think that's slightly exaggerated, still it's bloody loud to say the least. Works well as a practise head as well as you can plug in an MP3 or whatever and play thru headphones Price is I think realistic considering the model but rest assured, I'm confident this is one of the good ones. Again, genuine and only reason for the sale is I need a 2 ohm head for my modular 610 cabs, ie 4 ohm 410 and 8 ohm 210. Also I want to add the option of another 8 ohm cab to my two existing ones. I'd like £380 for the head, that will include next day delivery and full insurance cover or £350 collected from Preston, Lancs . I'm also happy to meet up within reason and have studio facilities for a test run if needed. If the postage works out any less than £30 I'll refund the difference. i only have these two pics for now but will unrack it and take some more tomorrow. The rack ears and original packaging are included. Cheers then.
7. NOW SOLD After a recent upgrade I have a pair of MEC J Pups and 3 band active Pre amp with passive pull switch on the volume out of a 2002 Warckick Thumb. Different sizes for neck and bridge so should / will fit a Fender style Bass. All in all...good condition. Comes with Black Knobs Stacked Vol/ Blend, Mid boost and cut, Stacked Bass / Treble. I'd rather not split them thanks. £60 inc 1st class postage. Pics to follow.
8. Hey Folks, A wee conundrum for ye. I've fitted a set of Bartolini Pups and a U-Retro Pre amp in my warwick Thumb today. Whilst this has totally transformed the instrument in every way I'm getting some unwanted noise from the Pups. It's not the usual hum or click, the cavity is pretty well earthed with copper tape etc. What's happening is that when I brush my fingers against either of the pickups or even lightly tap them the brushing sound and tapping is coming out through the amp and it's pretty loud to say the least. any ideas folks ?? The gain on the preamp is at it's lowest setting btw. Thanks in advance for any advise offered.
9. Hi Folks, Is this typical GB Shuttle tone ?? I realise the Ashdown cabs are in the mix but I wouldn't have expected the amp to sound as warm as this. Not sure why as I've never heard one before, just expectations I guess. Thanks in advance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8jtxQawx60
10. Hey folks, I bought this of Al (Niceguyhomer) last week. Not really my bag but i guess you gotta try these things. As Al said, couple of tiny tiny marks on the lid but otherwise as new. front panel, rear and sides etc are minty fresh. You know the shiz about these so no need to go into detail here. £340 collected from Preston Lancs or......... £360 including 1st class fully insured (UK) postage, original packaging inc. Sold Off Site. Cheers.
11. Just came across this track when I saw that Jerry LaCroix had passed away. The guy had an amazing voice and thought I'd share this track as the Bass playing as well as the Singing is top drawer. I'd have enjoyed myself at this concert I think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMfmd6vCkc0&feature=youtu.be

13. Just came across this list so thought I'd share it. It was in the "Groove" section so it won't suit all tastes but hey. Hope there's some good stuff for guys. Bottoms Up
14. Hey Folks, I just bought an old Crate BT350....yeah yeah I know.. but... i've been searching for one of these amps for the last two years plus after the one I had died. Believe me when I say the BT350 is a lovely sounding head and not to associated with a lot of the Crate products that get less than favorable comments. Anyway, now that bits out the way........ These amps were built in the same Ampeg factory and on the same line with a lot of the same internals as the the SVT 3 type heads, the pre however is Crate's own. It's basically a valve pre into a 350 watt @4 ohm mosfet power section. Ok, so I'm gigging the amp last night for the first time and at decent / loud volume the sound would go into really bad distortion and break. Turn the amp down and it went away. I've tried the amp this morning at loud-home volume and it's working fine. It seems it's an issue when the head is being pushed. Any ideas folks, I'd be grateful for any pointers. Thanks in advance.
15. This show keeps getting better ! Enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMfKewPnwr0
16. I've tried a few different types of strings on my Thumb Bass over the last 18 months and settled on SIT Silencers (Nickels) as a nice compromise between a round and flat tone. The Silencers lasted a good 12 months and I figured it was time for a restring. I fitted a new set of SIT's and although they sounded good, after a weeks worth of noodling at home, one rehearsal and a sweaty gig they were still a bit little too sizzly for my tastes. I got to thinking about flats and as i like the Ti's so much on my Jazzer I thought I'd enter into a rather risky enterprise and buy a set for my Thumb, they are pretty expensive after all. I went for the J364 extra long scale set and fitted them this morning. Spot on for the Thumb NT scale length btw. The results are nothing short of astounding, well to me anyway hehe. Absolutely killer tone from this combo, I was there or thereabouts with the SIT's but the Ti's take this bass and it's inherent tone to another level. They are nice, very rich and full on the bottom, Mids are lovely, smooth and buttery and they even out the G string and the top end shizzle a treat. Best £50 spent this year so far I'd say and re the other thread about Warwicks and strings, apologies for not posting this in that thread but hey, I'm excited, I wanted my own.
17. Now Sold The Cab works and sounds 100%. Price is £330 including all courier costs and full insurance. Not looking for any trades thanks.
18. Hi Folks, I bought this to treat myself last year for my 50th. I got it to do a little recording etc but to be honest I've hardly used it all since owning it. I need to free up a little cash so will part with it for £150 inc insured 1st class postage. Great for home practise and has some surprisingly nice tones within. Plenty of cool on board effects, tuner etc and more software available on the Fender Website, DI and USB out, Mp3 in etc etc Mint condition and as new including all original packing etc etc. Pics to follow and thanks for looking. Demo here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tn4WwbmRbN8
19. Hi Folks, Possibly looking at trading my pair of DB112 plus DB112nt for a pair of Berg AE112's or AE210's. Only reason for swapping is I've had an AE at home for a couple of days and the Bergs suit my main Bass and Amp better, for me at least. The NT is about a month old, three gigs and mint, the 112 I bought used but has a new driver from Aguilar. Castors fitted so slight issues there (or not ) couple of very slight dings in the tolex, Both cabs are Classic Black and Silver. I'd prefer 210's but lets see what's about. Not looking for a 212 cab at this time thanks. Located in Preston,Lancs. Cheers.
20. Hi Folks, Bit of a tough one for me to do this but something has to give so....... Aguilar TH500 up for grabs. Absolutely mint and as new, all original packaging included. £540 inc Thanks for looking. Now Sold
21. I've just stumbled on this band and am pretty impressed to say the least. Fantastic vocals and some very nice upright playing as well. I hope some of you guys enjoy as much as me. Youtube playlist here. Their version of "I want you back" is particularly impressive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dW2KJR4i-mM
22. Hey Folks, I'm having a slight challenge with my Warwick Thumb NT4 whereby I'm struggling to hear the D+G strings when gigging. The biggest problem is our drummer is "LOUD", he plays at the same volume whether we're doing a wedding in a big room with 200+ guests or a small bar gig with 50. It's basically his band though, he runs and organises everything and he's in denial when you mention it. He doesn't think there's an issue so I'm loathed to keep moaning about it as it's a good payer..... with that in mind I'd like some advise about my Bass please rather than about the "LOUD" issue in this instance. I've thrown a fair bit of money at trying different amp / cab combinations, the latest set up is an Aguilar TH500 and 2 DB112 cabs. I played a wedding last week and used my Jazz strung with Chromes and heard every note, come New Years Eve and we play a bar gig and my Warwick still doesn't cut through on the D+G with the Aguilar kit. I realise the Thumbs are voiced in a particular way, the nature of the beast and all that but I do prefer playing the Thumb and the rest of the band prefer the tone as well. So......... I'm wondering if i should put a different preamp in there ? I tried changing the inherent voicing of a Bass before with a John East U-Retro and it didn't make any noticeable change to Bass at all, a Lakland 44-01 with the LM3 pre in that instance. I just got more variation of the same thing. Could any of you guys with experience of swapping preamps out offer any light on the situation and recommend one to try out, especially something that might fatten up the D and particularly the G string on a Warwick Thumb. Apologies for the essay and thanks in advance for any suggestions. Cheers.
23. Hey folks, Warwick FNA Jazzman in the link. I thought the LTD series were all signed and had block inlaid necks, so a bit confused with this one. Cheers http://www.ebay.co.u...=item417afc97d8
24. Hi Folks, The gear sell off continues unabated. Sennheiser e945 for sale only please. In very good condition and hardly used, a little bit of clip rash but that's about it. very good quality vocal mic with excellent anti feedback properties on loud stages, beats the crap out of an SM58 imo. Comes in a nice little zip up pouch, i think i might have the box somewhere but can't promise. They retail for around the £160-£170 mark from Thomann etc so I think £100 posted first class is about right. Cheers.
25. Hey Folks, Epifani UL410 S1 1200 watts @8ohm fitted with B+C Neos and weighs 57lb.
