Teen Town. First song that came to my head.

That faux folk sound around the time Lumineers were ho-heying and stomping their feet. Home by Edward Sharpe and the magnetic zeroes, anything Mumfordy. I’ve built up tolerance for adjacent stuff over the years but I still can’t handle that stuff.

I’m currently learning to play too - and enjoying it for the most part! Got most of the basic open chords down but it takes me about a minute to switch between them 😅
It is nice to try barring in lots of positions and finding magical 7 chords. I’m a big fan of arpeggios with the 9th added. The Police guitarist uses this quite a bit, and it doesn’t feel like much of a finger stretch when coming from playing bass for years. Good luck with your journey!

I take them all off before restringing so I can give the fretboard a good clean.

Peavey T40 - I’ve heard they’re heavy basses? I’m not a big enough guy to be encumbered with that weight on my shoulder.
Gibson Grabber - prohibitively expensive and they look like solid chonks too. But they just have that allure. They look great.

Another ‘unfortunately’… had a rough night with our sick baby and I’ve woken up feeling awful today. So I think I better keep away from the kind basschat folk. Gutted to miss this! Have a great day, all

Is anyone selling anything on the day, or will it be a fun surprise to see ‘for sale’ stickers slapped on headstocks? I’m having a think myself…

Hmm... John Paul Jones.

I’d definitely try and sell your fretless bass. There aren’t many fretless ‘Rays out there so I think there would be some interest! I’m even considering getting my Ray 34 de-fretted.

Alright, well pencil me in for coming down with my Fender P bass and Ray 34!

It’s all very relaxed and different folks do different things. No reason not to pop in for a bit - esp, if you can catch a guest talk or two. You’ll enjoy it no matter how long or short you stay for.
If you’re coming up from Brighton, maybe you could cadge a lift with Mr Pratt!! 😉🤣
I didn’t know Guy was in Brighton. I’d be happy to supply the lift providing a bass arsenal could fit in my Fiesta!

Probably worth buying a used Ray 34 and a Darkglass pedal instead.

I’ve never been to a bass bash but would love to attend, if I can. We’ve got a handful of a lovely 10 month old so I wouldn’t be there for the whole day. Do other folk stick around for just a couple of hours?
If I came I’d be bringing my rather unexotic duo of MIM P bass and Silverburst Sterling Ray 34. I don’t have an amp, only a Nux preamp.

Oh man wish it was payday
Well if this doesn't go earlier, see you at the end of the month? 😉

Potentially got a new bass coming in (Oops!) so I'm keen to get this one out.
Now REDUCED to £370 collected or delivered within 10 miles of Brighton.

Definitely can’t afford Brighton, that’s for sure! We’ll probably end up about a 30-60 minute drive from here, which is cool. And then I can resume spending my money on things I want like fretless Jazz basses 😄You moving to scale up for the youngling?
Yeah, looking for an extra bedroom ideally so we can keep our home office 😅 Where are you looking? Worthing is a possibility for us.

Don't suppose you're ever in London and able to bring it with you?
If not then I might have to find an excuse for a trip to Brighton...
I don't make it up to London much, I'm afraid!

Oh man, I'd love to buy this... and I'm in Brighton too. But alas, my girlfriend's decided we're buying a house this year so no can do. Good luck with the sale. At that price I'm sure it won't take long.
Ah, man – that's unfortunate but I totally understand. We're trying to move house this year too! Crazy, crazy prices around here, right? Good luck with the search!

Great lookin' '98/99 lined fretless MIM jazz bass for sale! Plays really well, feels great, I just don't have the time to sink into it these days with a three-month old baby boy around. Bass weighs around 9lbs.
Very good condition for its age – beautiful neck grain and rosewood fretboard (looks a little darker in person). Just has a few scratches on the body, as shown below. It's wearing (oldish) roundwounds but still sings when you slide or dig in!
I don't have a spare bag or case for this so you'll need to bring your own (but if meeting up, it will be transported in a hard case!)
Collection from Brighton or delivery/meetup within 10 miles.
Any questions, hit me up! See my seller feedback below (though ignore the last post – it's not for me!)
Small scratch on the left of the bridge

Really enjoyed the Kendrick, Mitski and Turnstile sets. Hadn't heard Mitski before but it was a great performance with some catchy tunes.

Still just the one Fender MIM P bass. Can't complain. I like the colour combo more everyday and I might grab some Model P pickups before our first post-covid band practice. I was close to buying a natural MIJ Jazz bass on bass direct this morning though... It was gone when I checked a few hours ago! Who bought it eh?

I'm not into the colour of the Fender Pau Ferro fretboards. They look too light for something that's been effectively used to replace rosewood.

The Holy Bible is a great album and nothing like their other stuff. If you like raw, angry with great riffs, you might enjoy.
