1. Evening all,

I'm probably asking for trouble here, but either PRS basses are not regarded with much joy or my estimation on the value of these is well out, hence not being swamped by interest...

So being the most knowledgable bunch of people in the land of basses - um what sort of price should I hope for?

From what I found out about this one, the guy I bought it off paid £2,300 in 2002 for it and it's in excellent condition now.

Any help greatly appeciated as I'd rather like to turn it into money...

Thanks,

Paul.

2. Hello fellow basschatters,

For Sale, 2002 PRS Electric Bass, in McCarty Sunburst with maple neck. Recently had a full pro-setup at Joe White's guitar studio in Ash (who I recommend to anyone who needs a proper setup for their bass or guitar).

As you can see from the pictures, this bass is in excellent condition with no dings or scratches apart from one or two tiny inperfections as you would expect from an 8 year old guitar. Comes with Schaller strap locks, original PRS hard case with the PRS words and cloth etc.

Active pickups with 2 volumes and 1 tone control for bass tones for all occasions! 18v circuitry and battery compartment accessed from back panel.

I'm looking for £1100 and am happy to meet 1/2 way around the SE of England anyway to save on postage/courier costs, though obviously further than that will need courier type service.

Any questions please let me know and I'll do my best to answer them.

Cheers, Paul.

I'm not after any trades (apparently I have enough basses!)

UPDATE: Now looking for £1000ish - and I'll whisper it quietly - maybe a trade for a nice Stingray with 4 strings and a maple neck! :)

3. The Strat Plus is one of only 2 six stringers I have and it's excellent. I bought it new in the US about 10 ago I think and it's been excellent and since a Joe White setup fabulous to play. The Lace Sensors work great - especially in the studio with no noise or hum which I've had on standard Strats. If you find one for sale it won't be money wasted.

4. Thanks guys

That book does look handy, I'll take a look at it too. All the advice to look after posture and drink water and stuff comes as a warning to me that middle aged blokes should learn that they are no longer the indestructable rock stars (kind of thing) their brain still tells them they are!

Off for a pint (of water...)

5. Bit of a less upbeat topic here - do any of you fellow BCer's have routines for keeping aching limbs going?
As I play with a pick, the action my right arm/hand has to perform has got my right arm/shoulder very achey (if that's a word).

Does anyone out there have any good remedies or exercises they can recommend to help - not just my wonky arm - but anyone who
stands up and plays?

Thanks all!

6.
GAS. Gear Acquiring Syndrome. yeah you suffer from it ok, you will fit in nicely here. :)
Arh yes - now I understand...

Yep been a sufferer of this for years - I just didn't know it was a recognised condition!

7. We got a load of stuff done by Vistaprint - as also mentioned. They do all sorts and if you time it right they chuck in all sorts of other stuff for free - we got 500 business cards done... never used them but it seemed a good idea at the time.

They will send you a million offer emails a week unless you unsubscribe though!

8. Hello everyone.

Been reading this site for a few weeks now to kind of grasp how things work, though I'm still not sure what GAS is, though I suspect I may suffer from it unknowingly...

Here is my current line up of stuff - even though a couple of six stringers have sneaked in!

Though I'm sure most of these are obvious from the left:
2008 USA Standard Precision - my main gigging bass
A Stat and an Aria Pro II Cardinal Guitar
A mid 80's Hofner 5000/1 Violin Bass
An Aria Pro II SB1000 from 1982 - not currently being used too much if anyone is interested?
2003 Rickenbacker 4003
2001 Stingray 5

Currently my band hears me via some great Markbass kit which I hugely recommend.

I look forward to carry on reading and drooling over stuff on the site.

Cheers all!

Paul.
