  1. It does make me laugh that there are people here banging on about the Hartke sound and how the artists could do better. THEY HAVE PICKED THE BRAND!! Lets us not kid ourselves that these people couldn't pick whatever they want. Why would they use gear if they didn't like them? In this day and age gear could be shipped around the world quite easily so supporting an artistis isn't that difficult. I use Ashdown and Hartke depending on what I want but it doesn't make one better than another. I have listened to all three types of Hartke cab (aluminium/paper cone mix, traditional paper cone, and all aluminium cone) and they all sound completely different so what is the Hartke sound? It just depends what you need , the badge shouldn't matter. I thought Victor was great and the gear he used is right for him, lets us just respect his decision and stop trying to second guess it. These are great musicians and that is the important factor here not what they play. As Victor poointed out it is just what is right for each individual. Viva la difference! Owyn

    AK cabs

Hi Guys Has anyone seen the new Hartke AK cabs in store? I got to play through one in one of the Sam Ash stores in the US but can't find them here in the Uk. It was a traditional papercone and sounded amazing but I would like to try another one with my own bass just to make sure it wasn't the 'holiday feeling' playing tricks on me. If anyone sees them anywhere south of Birmingham can you let me know. Gruf
  3. Hi Guys, Went to the Bristol event and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the first time I have been to a clinic and was surprised at how approachable Stu was, really nice guy who can also play bass! However whilst I know what VOXPOP meant about the sound it was in a shop with suspended ceilings so the fittings were always going to rattle like mad so it shouldn't really have come as a surprise. Would love to go to a 'proper' venue but I guess there would need to be more people to make it viable. But it was free and I got to meet a great player so what's to complain about. :brow: Gruf
