  1. * 1 x 12 now sold.

Up for grabs are my mid 2000's EBS Neoline 1x10 & 1x12.

I purchased these in the mid 2000's, they were used pretty regularly up until my band went ampless around 2017 and have been in storage since.

They have been well used; there's no tears in the covering, but some of the metal work is missing a bit of paint and the corner protectors have clearly done they're job! The tweeter control on the 1x10 is missing a knob but is turnable by hand. The control on the 1x12 has been knocked off completely, but it can still be turned by using a flathead screwdriver.

I've tested them and they are both in full working order, but for full discosure the 1x10 does have an internal knocking sound when you move it around - this does not occur when playing through it.

Can ship at buyers cost - about £20 for UK.

I’d be interested to know your thoughts on the bypassed DI tone with the cab sim engaged.
I’m thinking I’d quite like an SV to run a bit dirty then bypass it for a clean tone….

  3. NOW SOLD

I'm selling my Wilcock 4P-51 short scale bass. Commisioned in mid 2020, delivered to me in December 2020.
    Here are the specs:

    - Lightweight Alder body
    - Piano-black gloss finish
    - Oil-finished maple neck with rosewood f/b
    - Hipshot Ultra light tuners w/D-tuner
    - Fralin split '51 pickup
    - 30" scale
    - New set of GHS boomers installed
    - Hard case
    - Weight 3.54kgs

Great looking instrument, plays like butter and sounds great too.
Had every intention of making this no.1 instrument once I get back to gigging but my latest project calls for a 5 string (which I have already sourced, so no trades unfortunately).

There's a couple of very small dings in the top which I've tried to highlight in some pictures - these only show up under the flash which makes them look 100x worse than they are. Plus there's some small scratches just around the rear of the control panel and a small amount of bucke rash on the back. Other than that it's in good condition, probably wasn't played nearly as much as it should've been.

I'm based in Suffolk, collection would obviously be preferrred but I have a hard case for it so shipping could be arranged at the buyers cost. I'll throw in the set of Dunlop flats that came on the bass.

    Any questions let me know!

  4. Up for sale is a MTD Kingston Z5.

I bought this from dyerseve (hope he doesn't mind me using his pictures!) a couple of years ago, and it's pretty much stayed on my wall ever since dues to my inability to deal with an extra string...

It's in excellent condition with just a couple of marks - a small ding on the bass side of the fret board at the 3rd fret and a couple of knocks on the top of the head stock.

It weighs in at 3.8kg and is a nice looking bass and plays very well - unfortunately I'm just not a 5 string player! The strings on it are a bit dead so I'll throw in a set of D'Addario Pro Steel 45 - 135's.

It comes with the padded gig bag. I'll throw in free shipping to mainland UK - sorry no shipping outside of UK. I'll double box the bass to make it secure.

  5. Back available for sale now.

Just a few light scuffs here and there with a small tear in the tolex at the front bottom. The seam on the cover has come away in two places on the front right of the cover and one on the rear, but it's holding together pretty well. There is a small place on the front left of the grill where the paint has come off.

Item location is in Sudbury, Suffolk. I don't have any boxes big enough to ship this at the moment so it is collection only, although I will consider meeting part way depending on buyer location. Hit me up with any questions.

Sorry, not looking for any trades at the moment.

    Hi,

I’m very interested in buying your mini bass. Slight dilemma, we are going to the Norfolk showground on Fri 2nd of Nov’, coming back, (we live on the south coast) Mon/Tues. It would be great to pick it up on our way through if that would be possible. I would prefer to pick it up rather than courier it. Are you desperate to sell, or could you hold it for me?

    Thanks, Mike.

    I've PM'd you Mike.

  7. Looking to move on my Taylor GS Mini Bass. Bought on a whim, has never left the house and probably played less than half a dozen times. Fun little bass but turned out to not be my thing really. In near showroom condition, just a little bit of tarnishing on the E-string.

Item location is in Sudbury, Suffolk. I have the original box so I can get it packaged up for shipping, but the buyer will need to arrange this themselves and it would need to be a tracked service so there was no question marks over collection. Hit me up with any questions etc.

  8. ***03/10/18 Currently on hold for a member of this parish.

These seem to be like the proverbial buses at the moment....

Anyhow, I'm not playing at the moment and when I was I had started going direct to the PA with IEM's,  which I intend to continue to do when I get back on it. So for that reason I am selling up my 'big rig' which means my Berg' CN212 has to go. Great sounding cab and very light too for a 2x12.

  9. I'm not playing at the moment and when I was I had started going direct to the PA with IEM's,  which I intend to continue to do when I get back on it. So for that reason I am selling up my 'big rig' which means my TC RH750 has to go.

It comes with the TC carry bag, in full working order with just a few light scuffs here and there. Nearly all the knobs have fallen off at some point, which is a common occurrence from what I gather. They are all secured with a certain blue sticky putty at the moment which seems to be doing the job nicely. I did intend to get a new set from TC but never got round to it....

  10. I'm still having problems with my ACS'. I lost the right ear during the first gig I did with them, then after the warranty repair, that same ear started distorting. Then after the warranty repair for that, the left has started intermittently going silent. If you squeeze the shell slightly the sound comes back so it's something to do with the connector in the IEM.

These IEM's were not cheap and I am 100% disappointed with their performance; I found them to be underwhelming even when they were working OK. Fairplay to ACS, they have been quick to respond and totally compliant in sorting out the repairs, but I really shouldn't be having these problems with what I consider a mid-to-upper range product. Plus they didn't offer any recompense on the cost of postage until I kicked up a fuss a little.

The upshot is that I'm probably going to look for alternative IEM's next year, which means going through the rigmarole of getting my impressions done again and forking out more money.... :(

I keep looking at that too.

I do wonder why it's hanging around though. It's been on the site for at least a year.

Still - everything about that is right for me... apart from the money! :D

No doubt it's expensive; mine cost me £1700 a few years back before the £ when t£ts up. Not sure I would have paid 2500 for a super jazz then (unless it said Sadowsky on it), but since owning a Lull I think they're well worth the money...

Ok. I have been very tempted by a Shuker custom build. Talk to me.

All I want is a J type with a 2 band and active/passive switch. I don’t have a solid budget yet and not in any hurry but I would estimate my max to be £2500.

    Take a look at this:

I have a similar Lull and it's just a great bass - I will never get rid of it.

If its any consolation, one the way back from my gig last night, I was talking a guitarist mate (who was actually covering bass duties for me on another gig that I usually do)... and his ACS cables failed last night also. So at least you are in good company.

The failure rate of ACS just seems far too high to be right doesn't it?

The cables/connectors just seem like a bad design. I pulled the trigger on some Kz8's as a backup and even the connectors on these work better than those used by ACS.

  14. I pulled the trigger on some ACS Live Embrace IEM's a couple of months ago and am currently wishing I hadn't.

On first use at a gig I had no sound out of my right ear. At first I thought I might have buggered the cable (which looks like a very easy thing to do by the way) so I ordered a new at £30. This didn't fix it, so I ended up having to send them back which luckily coincided with a few weeks of down time for the band.

Got them back last week, quickly plugged them in to try at home and yes both ears worked. But at a gig last night the right ear was majorly distorting to the point I had to pan to the left ear only. Ran some test this morning just to make sure I wasn't overloading anything and the left ear works fine whereas I get the distortion with exactly the same signal in the right.

So looks like I'll be sending them back again, but I don't know when because I have quite a few gigs booked up. I've kicked up a bit of a fuss with ACS, so will be interesting to see how they respond.

I went with ACS a) because they are a UK company and b) because at the time I was going to be the only person in the band using IEM's so I wanted to make use of the Live ambient processor. But since I ordered them we completely overhauled our PA and we've all moved to IEM's, so I won't be needing it anyway. The sound quality (of the left ear at least!) seems fine and the fit is pretty good so there is hope, but can't help thinking I've paid over the odds somewhat with my current experience.....
