1.
I'm tempted, but it would rely on my getting rid of my old Westone first.

How do you find the bridge on this - I'm used to the solidity of something like a Badass and have in the past fought a bit shy of the American Vintage bridges.
Hello Fraff

I'm sorry but i cant make the comparison between this bridge and a Badass as i have never tried one.
It stays in tune and is fully adjustable as it's meant to i suppose and has loads of solid sounds.
Maybe someone on this forum can comment on the pros and cons of these different bridges perhaps?
If you are local (ish) come and have a play and see how you get on.

Cheers

4. Fender Jazz Fretless CIJ

Lovely bass in excellent condition.

The main issue with the bass is that the present owner lacks the necessary talent to play it and has recently agreed with his wife that a holiday is needed and will be part financed by the sale of 'unused' musical items scattered about the house.

In preparation for putting this on the forum 'for sale' section I took some photos and noticed a mark just near to the plate where the knobs are. I think it is where the previous owner took the controls out and was not particularly careful about it but it's not a big deal in my opinion and indeed I had not noticed it until now. There are some marks on the fret board as you would expect for a bass made in 2004-2005 and the pictures attempt to show these but again it's nothing that detracts from the appearance or playability. It weighs 4.2 kg according to the bathroom scales and 10kg in the hard case.
I would like £370 please.
You can have a gig bag for free or it's current alligator case for a tenner.
Postage:I just had a look on this website www.parcel2go.com and the cheapest price for a guitar in hard case worked out to be around £12 but it was without insurance. With insurance it is 5% of total value so add about £17
I don’t mind delivering or meeting up within say 20 -30 miles of Bristol

Have a look at this site while you ponder.
http://www.guitaremporium.co.uk/

It sounds fab, plays like a dream and looks super.
That’s it really.

Cheers

5. People of Earth.

I have a bundle (20-30) of Bassist and Bass magazines that i have finished with and would like to move on to a new home.
There are some issues from over ten years ago which make fun reading and more modern ones too.

Pick up from Bristol

Pm me please.

6. Ladies and Gents

I have two transporter cabs (checked out by Martin Bayley a famous tech chap in Bristol) and he has given them the all clear before i sell them. He said there is a slight rattle but most Hartke cabs do that at low volume anyway. I have had them for just over two years and so i guess they are around three to four years old and have had no problems.
I would like £120 ono for both and pick up only in the Bristol area. I dont mind meeting up within a radius of 20 miles.
You are quite welcome to bring your amp along and try them first of course
They are in good condition and come with covers that do the job. I am selling them because i needed to down size and so invested in a new combo.
If there is no interest by the weekend i will put them up on the infamous ebay.

Specs are
Single-Chamber Sealed Cabinet Design
Two Hartke 10" TP Aluminum-Cone Bass Drivers
Power Handling: 150 Watts @ 8 Ohms
Frequency Response: 50 Hz To 4 kHz
Sensitivity: 94 dB @ 1 W/1 M
Voice Coil: 1.5"
Magnet Weight: 40 Oz.
Parallel 1/4" Input Jacks
Dimensions: 14"(H) X 24"(W) X 12"(D)
Weight: 36 lb.

Thanks
Phil

8.
When you say 'the black cover on the driver', do you mean the dome in the middle of each cone (usually called the dustcap)? If that's loose it will vibrate against the cone and cause annoying buzzing sounds and it will also hiss/whistle/chuff as the driver goes back and forth and internal pressure causes air to rush in and out through the gap between dustcap and cone. You can usually glue dustcaps back on fairly easily but I'm not sure what kind of adhesive you'd need to bond with the aluminium and the paper and have suitable flex characteristics.

Alex
Hello Alex
Thanks for your reply.
This dustcap appears to be secured by some black tape around the edges so i suppose i can just cut that carefully and see what is underneath yes?
I have some evostick and putting a blob under the cap may do the trick. Does it matter what tape i then use to refix ? Special speaker/dustcap fixing tape?
I have also contacted Hartke at Samsontech who were not much help and told me to take it to the nearest distributor for repair which happen to be KORG in Milton Keynes.
Thanks again.

9. Hello there
I have two hartke tp210 cabs that recently have started to buzz/flap/blarp when playing low ends. They used to be fine being run from a hartke 3000 amp.
I thought it was one driver/speaker in each cab that was faulty and so swapped them about to create one good cab and one not so good cab but much to my chagrin the results have not changed. Do i have four blown speakers? On some other web site forums it is claimed that you cant easily blow hartke speakers and that my problem is to do with a) temperature and :) the black cover on the driver has come loose(on all four?)
I have since sold the hartke amp and am using my brand new Ashdown ABM C210T-300 EVO II Combo for testing purposes.
Help please?

10.
Hi,
Im interested in the amp. How old is it? Has it been gigged much?
Set me up with a price as i have no idea myself what it should go for sorry.
Thanks
Hello there.
I think it's great that you are interested mate but i have little idea what to ask for it . really i dont. i was hoping that someone on here could help and say a reasonable price and of course we could haggle !
I have used the amp at least once a week for the past two years and bought the whole set up second hand for just under £400 from a music shop in Bristol.
Now that may have been good or bad or reasonable at the time i dont know , i just thought it sounded great and was suitable for what i wanted.
I have never needed to turn the thing up past half way as it was plenty loud enough.
So. the amp. £100 ? is that good? anyone?

12.
Hi--does the fretboard wear or indeed the white plastic lines create any buzz of strings while playing?-some people on reviews etc. seem to say the latter can be an issue with this bass. I am interested, honest...
Hello there

Nope no buzzing.

What an interesting question though. I've never heard that said of this bass and always thought that a problem like that would have been caused by a warped neck or high frets but we live and learn...
The fretboard ware really should not discourage anyone honestly.

Thanks for your question.

13. Ladies and gents
This may have been asked before but...

I heard an old tune the other day by a singer named Matt Monro called "We’re Gonna Change The World" and i thought what a fantastic bassline.
Anyone got any details about it? Like who played it and if anyone transcribed it?
Thanks

Phil

14. Hello there
The original asking price was £140 and to make it more attractive i dropped it by a whole £10! to £130
I just had it pointed out to me that there is one going on ebay today for £142 currently. damn!
I also think that £20 is to much for postage and £15 is the correct ammount.
See you

15. Hello there
Here is my Fender Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Fretless up for sale.
It's a lovely guitar and the only reason i am selling it is that i have upgraded to a MIJ fretless bought recently on this forum.
It's in very good condition with the only drawback being a slight dink above the controls and some fretboard ware.
These in no way detract from the playablity and appearance of this fine guitar.
I am looking for around £130ish
There are many reviews of this bass on the internet, all of them glowing and i am sure you will not be dissapointed
It will come with a gig big and can be picked up from Bristol or i can post for around £15
Cheers
Phil
