1. Price Drop to £300.

This bass is very good, but I need the money so it has to go asap.

For sale is my2000/ 2001 MIM Fender Jazz 5 string in the strikingly beautiful and (sadly) discontinued Agave Blue finish.

This is the original run of the MIM Jazz 5-ers which are quite cool and have a few distinct design differences from the current version which I think make this bass special. They are:

Headstock is a streamlined 5-in line headstock vs. the 4+1 featured in the current model.

A long straight "three in the tree" string tree for the A-G strings vs the standard two string tree on the newer versions.

The finishes on the old run were more varied. This one is agave blue. Current models only come in Sunburst and Black

The bass itself is a wonderful player and in really great condition. Good balance and not that much heavier than a standard Jazz 4 if at all. The neck feels good and fender really got it right on the string spacing. Does not feel cramped.

sake of being very thorough here is a description of each one...

I would give total condition a 9/10 or better.

    Looking for £300 ono

Come with Gig bag and strap.

    Pick up in Durham only

The bass is in condition for a bass of its age, but many dings.

It comes with a Warwick Gig bag.
    Asking for £600 o.n.o

    Local collection only.

  4.
That's a real tough question mate.

Warwick market is so hard to read at the moment. Things seem to be selling silly cheap then suddenly one goes for big money for no understandable reason!

Your FNA is a great bass, what are you looking for as trades?

You want a 5 string? Diff warwick? Banjo?!

    The list goes on!!

I think valueing a trade is nigh on impossible for an outsider! It really depends on what you want and what the other guy has!
I would trade for a good mim Fender Jazz 5 or a old American fender Jazz or P bass 5

  5. Need some advice. Selling

    http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=97939

I’ve put it out there for £600 o.n.o.
If I were to part ex it what should I be asking for it?

    Cheers

  7.
Hi,
After much debate I've decided to sell my other basses.....long story!

    1) KSD 705 [/b]- Mods include: J-Retro pre-amp special(Vol/blend, tre/bass,tre/bass,tone),Hipshot tuners,Badass bridge,Bone nut,Schaller strap locks,Nordstrands NJ5SF jazz pickups.
I had the logo on the head stock removed (which proved to be quite interesting as people would compliment on the sound/look and then ask about the maker!!). Rivals any high end jazz bass. Trust me I've tried a few.
This bass is just over a year old and has been kept in excellent condition.! asking £895

    2) [b]KSD FLBK5 - Modified with J-Retro deluxe pre-amp. This one is even more recent but has a couple of minor scratches in the finish at the back. Again with John East's electronics, this is a killer fretless! asking £695

    Reminder:

    3) Fender MM5 jazz bass- I hardly use/used this bass(but managed to misplace the p/up cover) so its in mint! price reduced to £895

    4)Carvin BB75P - Mods include: J-Retro Deluxe(John modified to work with Carvin bridge piezos),Bone nut,Schaller strap locks,Seymour Duncan ASBII MM pickups(with various switching options) and more.....price reduced £ 995
A bit of a long shot but do you still have the MM5?

  8.
I have a set in my Jazz 5. Strong bass and top with a scooped mid. Very very strong punchy slap sound with lots of output.

Im now in a blue grass band so if you want a set that are about 4 months old just PM me.
AU selling? and how much for he set. and what dose it come with/
    Thanks

  9.
Seymour Duncan Hot Stack for Jazz. Awesome pup.

EMG's are fine in their place but I don't see them fitting those styles of music as well as the SD's.

Single / series / parallel switch them for max versatility.
Thank you,
Do you know if they fit in the Max 5 Bass without having do any routing out and stuff?

  16.
I have the EMG J Set on my Squier Affinity Jazz. I have also fitted a high mass bridge as well, a bit like the bridge on the new Fenders. The bridge didn't really make a huge difference, but the pickups transformed it. The stock pickups sounded OK, but the EMG's sound awesome. I have found that finger style, near the neck I can get really warm, and rich bass sounds, but if I really dig in with a pick, near the bridge, I can get a really good rock/metal growl from it. The J set I bought had connectors at the pickups, but required soldering at the pots. The kit does come with new pots and jack socket, all pre assembled, and much higher quality than the stock components. I had the kit fitted in about half an hour.

I would do the pickups first, and worry about the bridge later :)
Thanks alot I think I'll do that. by the way the best price I can get them for?

    Gee
