  1. Thanks man. I use a Quilter V803 as my main amp, and want something as loud as possible but must be able to handle the low B on my 5 String. Cheers 👍
  2. Hi guys, I am looking for recommendations on 112 cabs that can handle a 5 String. I need to downsize slightly and find something that will fit into the boot of my Mazda MX5. Thanks in advance Freddie
  3. Hey guys, Following items are for sale: FMC 1210UL I purchased this recently from Franzbassist who done me a fantastic deal on it. A fantastic little cab, but unfortunately my transport situation means that I am no longer able to take this with me on all of my gigs. I now need to find a 112 cab solution, small enough that fits in the boot of a Mazda MX5. In fantastic condition with thick cover. You will be able to find the previous add on here. Can send photos on request. Taken from Franzbassist add (hope you don't mind!) This cab has a 12" neo speaker at the bottom and a 10" neo speaker at the top. There is no tweeter. Power handling is 600 watts RMS and the dimensions are 65.5cm high, 41.5cm wide and 41 cm deep. The actual weight of this cab is 17.5 kg with the cover on. Impedance 4 ohms. To quote the FMC site "The speaker sounds more powerful than a 210, it has the transparency of the 10" and the bulkiness and centre focus of the 12" speaker. Altogether a modern and open-sounding box with plenty of depth. New price in Germany is €754 (£641). £400 collection from Swindon Bugera BV1001M (Mosfet) Brilliant amp for the money, boxed as new (purchased from Andertons back in April 25 for £229). I have a quilter V803 and TE Elf, so have decided to sell this on and help fund a new cab. Loads of positive reviews on these online. £180 collection from Swindon Tradewise I would be interested in a trade on either of the above for a 112 or 2x112 cab/cabs, plus money your way if required. Only really interested in high end cabs that can handle low B of a 5 string bass. You are very welcome to come try either of these before committing to any purchase. Kind regards Freddie

  4. Hello guys Does anyone know if I can run an 8ohm and a 4ohm (2 seperate cabs) together and safely using the Quilter V803? ...and if I do this, do i need to ensure something is changed on the amp for this to work, or will it do it automatically, ie do i leave the watts tuner at 800? Thanks in advance! Freddie 👍
  5. Just weighed this again......unless something wrong with the scales I am using. I initially stated 3.5kgs so must have been reading the Red marker, but even so, its showing 3.9/just under 4kgs.
  6. Thank you sir! I appreciate your help and guidance 🙂
  7. Thanks Bill, I appreciate your help.
  8. I guess my main point and question is, if any amp is underpowering the cab, which i guess the elf running a 300w 8hm cab will be, then surely it will give more power and lows to a 300w 4ohm cab?
  9. Its just the low end seems to break up quite considerably at not a very high volume. Perhaps mine is faulty!
  10. Purely for gigs where i can get away with using the elf which slips into the bass case, something less to carry! The EBS cab works fantastic with the streamliner, but a big drop in lows with the elf. Just wondering if the elf is being underpowered for just 112 8ohm? Which then led me to think whether a 4ohm cab would do a better job. Doesn't sound like it would make much difference.
  11. Thanks Bill. I'm using an EBS neoline 112, which is loud enough, it's more lacking in the low end with the elf certainly compared with my much more powerful streamliner (understandably so). But then I was thinking, is this to do with the cab being 8ohm. Or will a more sensitive 8ohm do a better job of pulling through the lows. Forgive my lack of knowledge!
  12. Thanks Bill, I have 2 x 8 ohm cabs already but looking to draw the full wattage out of the amp, so assuming a decent 112 4ohm cab will do the trick. For some venues I don't want to take both cabs, and 1 of the 8ohm cabs alone is obviously not pulling the full power from the elf. Thanks!
  13. Hi guys, I'm looking for a small 4ohm 112 cab to pair with a te elf. I know there is much on offer, but based on personal experiences is there any recommendations? Looking for something with good lows. Thank you!
  14. Hey guys, I've owned this for about 5 years, had it serviced a few years back and used it on about 30 gigs since. Most of my gigs are using in ears or stage monitoring these days and I need to raise some funds. It's in real mint condition and has never let me down. Collection from Swindon only or willing to meet somewhere within reason. It does not come boxed or with a case, just a power cable. £375 Thanks Freddie
  15. Hi guys, Looking at these Bugera Veyron Amps. Not sure if its the gear snobbery in me lol, but for the price seems to good to be true? I'm not worried about the true wattage, but more interested how good they sound on a gig, bigger gigs, and just as important - reliability. Any help / guidance appreciated:-) Cheers Freddie
  16. Hi guys. I play a lot of funk/R&B/Soul (mainly using in ears these days) but just wondering what amps people are using these days for those genres? Thank you! Freddie
  17. Hi guys, Sorry in advance is this has already been done. Just pulled the trigger on one of the 600w baby sumo power amps and just wondered what experiences anyone has had using the Sadowsky Sbp-2 or Tonehammer preamp pedals? I like a clean sound and play mostly funk/r&b/Soul, - bit of slap when required. Any other decent 'clean' pedal preamp recommendations that would work well? I've been using a Streamliner 900 for years and playing through 1/2 EBS Neoline cabs. Thank-you!
  18. Hi guys, Cutting down on pedals and trying to raise some funds, so I have the following up for sale: Aguilar Tonehammer £150 (Boxed - Immaculate) Will post at cost to buyer. Kind regards Freddie
  19. Taken from Sire: The string spacing at the bridge on a Sire V5 5-string bass is typically around 19mm; this is due to the "Marcus Miller Vintage-S Bridge" which features a design closer to a traditional Jazz Bass bridge, offering a slightly tighter string spacing compared to some other 5-string basses. Key points about the Sire V5 5-string bridge spacing: Standard spacing: Most commonly considered to be around 19mm. Marcus Miller design: The bridge is based on Marcus Miller's signature sound, which often features a tighter string spacing. Vintage aesthetic: The bridge design aims for a vintage look while maintaining optimal intonation and tuning stability. Cheers Freddie
  20. Hey guys, I'm selling my Fender Jazz Elite which i purchased from here a few months back from another Bass chatter. Fantastic Bass, but I'm after a 5 String Stingray/Sterling and need to raise funds. This is in fantastic condition, all except for 2 small screw holes which were inserted by the original owner as he fitted a bridge cover. I have filled these with some natural wood filler so these are hardly noticeable. Comes with the original Fender hardcase. Pics attached are what the previous owner took (hope he doesn't mind!). Prefer a straight sale but would be interested in a trade or part ex for a sterling or stingray 5. Based in Swindon but willing to meet somewhere within reason. Thanks Freddie
  21. Amazing 👏, thank you sir!
  22. You are a superstar buddy, really appreciate your help. I'd obviously rather get something good so might see where I can get the Morningstar from. Is it simple to assign patches just using that and the FI v4 would you know or do I need to do this via software on pc?
  23. Thanks bud 👍
