I have a T&W padded gig case. All in all I am quite satisfied with it. The wheels are pretty good and work on almost of sorts of terrain, The inside is very well padded and can safely say that have not damaged the bass. The shoulder straps, like most of you, I find them almost impossible, the bottom of the bass keeps hitting my legs, quite painfully too. Nello

[/quote] Until you need to go and play in an Italian Orchestra (or any sort of band, group etc). In italy a piece of music wouldn't be in 'C minor' but in 'DO minore' and the chord progression would go something like: DO maggiore, LA minore, FA maggiore, SOL maggiore settima and DO maggiore again. I just think it can sometime be useful to know what the italian terms are, especially if you get the chance to play with italian musicians. Nello

I have a Selmer double bass. My luthier said that these basses were made in Checkoslovakia and imported into this country by the Selmer shop in London. Mine is a fully carved blonde made in the 1950s with pine top and maple back and sides. It's a great bass and has a wanderful sound.
