ooohhhhhh..... I've had an accident.

I've got 3, one goes in the gig bag and the other 2 hold up the basses at home. You do need to be careful sometimes on stage where the strap can sometimes get caught under it..no big deal you just look silly for a few seconds.

Once did a gig with a freeform jazz funk hip hop band type thing, back stage it was pitch black, the sax player tripped up the steps walking on and dented his sax so only the top half was playable, my amp died during our first song.. we had a DJ so he mixed in some bass heavy stuff and I mimed... no one hardly noticed

I'm tempted.. almost sent a pm about an hour ago.

I occasionally see chris leslie on the bus to work in the morning.. and drink in some of the same pubs as Dave and Chris. I'll be going back to Cropredy this year after a 2 year break..seeing fairport every year does get a bit boring after 15 years on the trott. Yeah they are a bit good though.

I'll be going on Saturday from Banbury on the luvverly ish train, plan to drool at some dingwalls and then cry because I aint got the readies to get my mitts on one.. I will have one by the end of this year.. I played a few up at bass direct a few months ago and..cor blimey.

My circumstances have now changed so have a bump and good luck with the sale.. it's a very nice bass.

Thats pretty much it, scale lengh, type of string and pickups..and they are of course fretless. The biggest difference in my opinion anyway is technique. Even though they are tuned the same and are most commonly found with 4 strings tuned to EADG they are different instruments and the technique for them is both different. You play an electric upright like a bass guitar and it will sound like a fretless bass... play it like a double bass and it sounds a bit more like it's bigger brother.

Oh yeah.. and you can use a bow with an electric upright.. it's harder on the stagg because the curve on the bridge is shallower but it's doable.

The staggs go for around £340 ish nowadays, I got mine about 2 years ago for £250 and second hand they go for around 200-250 i reckon. They are really an intro into the edb world but I quite like mine. You'll hear lots about how different EUB/EDB's sound more like a proper Double Bass but in my opinion..the punters dont notice..

Just have, it's like that on both sides, luckily the split hasnt gone down to the neck so it's just on the headstock but obviously need to do something that will handle the strain once it's been restringed and back up to normal tension.

When packing up after a recent practice I whacked my Stagg EUB in it'a bag and propped it up against the wall while I packed away my bass guitar. The Stagg fell over.....



Oh dear i said (or words to that effect) when I took the bass out of the bag..

So I reckon I'm going to get me some titebond and clamp that badboy up and possibly band it up.

What do you reckon?

Overall lesson learned..dont prop it up against a wall and if you do..make sure it's in a corner and not going to fall.

I had the joy of playing this bass for an hour or so a few months ago and fell in love. If I wasnt married to a 5'er and saving up for another I'd have this bass in a second. It's a nice bass and sounds.... ohh so good. Good luck with the sale!
