Yes I'm a badge whore, mine all read 'Guild', 'Gretsch', 'Italia', 'Peavey' 'Cort' etc.....
I've got a Fender gig bag, does that count ? -
After all these years I'm still a beginner and still live in Bolton and still play sh*te ! Welcome to to the wonderful world of Basschat

I occasionally have to work in old folks homes/ sheltered accommodation and Constable and Turner are standard issue in these places. -

A copy of Mr JMW Turner's 'Waves Breaking Upon A Lee' has hung upon my wall these many years. I now feel irredeemably seedy and shall withdraw from public life.

You have a copy of a Turner on your walls, that automatically bars you from any further contribution to this discussion.
And you probably smell of stale piss -

Would sit nicely next to my silver Italia Tipo methinks

I've tried it three times now, and on each occasion it has produced the same result - a five string bass in the for sale section
I'm one of the benificiaries of Conan's experiments (cracking bloke to deal with BTW), I managed to to steal a 5 string Curbow from him
My first 5'er and the jury is still out, loving the low B but not sure about the width of the neck. Also had probs with left and right hand co-ordination, right hand hits highest string but left hand frets the string below. Minor stuff that hasn't put me off and I'm certainly keeping a watch on Conan's posts in the for sale section. -
So anyone else watch the first episode of 'Story of Music' ?
Personally I loved it and I can't wait for the next episode. I loved 'How Music Works' and this seems to be of the same high standard.
I suspect that in the years to come Mr Goodall could wind up being the 'Attenborough' of music. -

Root - Fifth (below)
Repeat.
Job done

I'm struggling to find the tab for that on-line, any ideas ?

What are they, £1,600 to £2,000?
Yup. If I spent that on a bass I would have to add an additional £5k-6k in divorce lawyers fees to the price -
Ehh.. what was that? Did someone talk about about being an old fart ? Or smelling like one ? Pah, bloody kids with their studs and leather jackets, good enema never did me any harm.
Welcome youngster -
The only time I tried a Bongo I loved it, both the look and the sound (the price put me right off tho). The Big Al... well it just looks fscking gorgeous and sounded good when I heard Ed Friedland reviewing it (but again, the price !)

This is why...
This, no argument. Heart-breakingly beautiful song that would simply sound wrong with frets (would shoot the keys on this version tho). -
I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but that's on fugly bass.
Yeah, I don't care for 'burst either. Now a cherry red model would be a stunner -

"Eye of the beholder"......you got that right!
Looking at your sig i would make a wild stab-in-the-dark guess and say that beauty in your eyes would involve the letter 'F' on the headstock -

That Dan Erlewine is a total charlatan, everybody knows that the way to sort out a dodgy action is to carve great chunks out of the nut and install an aftermarket humbucker.......
Agree completely ! If you watch the second vid it shows him cutting the nut and there isn't a B&Q needle file in sight ! WTF does he know ? -

Maybe I should send this link to MDP, maybe he would return to calling himself a bodger after watching it -

Can't be genuine 70's Fender. Everyone knows that old basses look like they have been attacked by a maniac with a sander !
