yes, permanent marker
i tried to sand it off but it doesnt seem to budge and im worried about sanding a large groove in it -
yes the pictures dont really do it justice
its much better in the flesh -
Here, finally, are some pics of my wonderlust bass.
Shes a Vintage V940 from Cheltenham. Long black stings. Defretted and in desperate need of some new electrickery
Mmmm more sexual than a fender (in my opinion).

im not expecting it to sound like the valve amps they make but i just wondered if they live up to the Orange name
-
the other night i was playing on a mates Orange rig. My god it sounded fantastic, however at around £2000 a shot its a bit out of my price range. I was wondering if anyone had tried the cheaper Crush series and what are they like compared to their bigger valve brothers?

that does make sense but its only a 2 way switch with either bridge OR neck selected. but not both
thats evne simpler than i thought so i could have a STDP switch and have the brown wire to the centre pin and the neck on one side and the bridge on the other.
sweet
one question
the grounds just need to be all connected and connected to the blak preamp wire right??
cheers ali -
its just supposed to be a selector for either bridge or neck pickup

does anyone know the standard wires going/out of into a 2 band preamp.
my bass is a vintage v940
there is a brown and a black wire going into the preamp from the pickup blend knob
i replaced the knob with a switch (long story) and now i cant get any tonal variety from the bridge pickup but still can from the neck pickup??!!??!!
i shouldnt be saying this as have GCSE in electronics (A grade as well ) but this is beyond me as i cant see whats inside the preamp.
HELP please -
looking forward to the end of this
cant wait!! -
i did a pretty goood job on my old p bass copy but for my current bass i had it done by a pro cost me £70 which was not bad money cos he did an amazing job.
if you do it yourself youve got to watch out for the neck bowing as the frets help keep it straight and when removed it tries to fill the gap where they were. -
for that mony buy a squire bronco an whack a seymor duncan vintage telebass pickup in it, some new electronics and a new bridge maybe, to make a pretty lush sounding 3/4 scale
-
A vintage v940
maybe one day ill post some pics -
no just any p and j pups as long as they are compatable i.e. not EMG with anything else and looks dont matter as the bridge pup is covered by the ashtray

been looking at wizard
people on here seem to praise them but has anyone done a comparison between them and the SDs?? -
is that a custom pickguard with the pic of the bloke holding a camera or did you buy it with that?
-
Please recomend me some nice beefy P-J passive pickups.
Prefferably not too expensive but good quality high output.
Also if you know any, some 18v preamps that go well with said pickups
cheers

would seem so. novel idea but as alpha dave said it cheaper to buy a fretless fretted pair
