I'm learning She Dominates by Blitzkid.

I went to see XSLF the other day.... fantastic.
Henry Cluney (original Stiff Little Fingers guitarist) is such a nice bloke and I've rarely seen anyone having a much fun on stage as him.
If you like SLF then these are a stripped down, less serious version but really worth watching.
They were so good I immediately got a ticket to go to the Northwich gig in a few weeks. For around a tenner is the best value ticket ever.

We're learning Die, Die, My Darling; I was quite excited by the Misfits' bass line and was looking forward to learning it. Then I get told "No, we're doing the Metallica version". A quick Google later and the only tabs for their version are dead simple roots, fifths etc. Am hoping I can kung fu the original version in there instead.
The Misfits version is WAY better as well.
Tbh, a lot of theirs are decent bass lines..Halloween is a good one.

I've set myself the challenge of learning The War of the Worlds from start to finish.

Went to the Slam Dunk Festival in Birmingham last night...4 bands on.
First on were Millie Manders and the Shutup. They were great.
By far the best "First Band of the night" that I've seen. I'd love to see them headlining.
The bassist girl put her foot down on something, went over, obviously in a LOT of pain and didn't miss a note. She spent the rest of the show barely able to walk/ move but sick with it. Top makrks to her.
Spunge were next... not my sort honestly but the crowd enjoyed them.
Teenage Bottlerocket next up... as awesome as ever... this band put more into it than any other I've seen.
Headliners were Zebrahead... again, catch but not really for me.
The 2 bands made the trip more than worth it.

Have a good un, they’re an awesome band (and great chaps too).
Cracking gig. I don't know any of their songs really but I enjoyed it.

The Wife and myself are heading to Stafford tonight to watch the amusingly named Spunk Volcano and the Eruptions.
S.V. is the singer in the equally amusingly named Dirtbox Disco.
-
Phil Campbell and The Bastard Sons.
Really good set, lots of lights, lots of noise and great songs.

I've decided to really have a solid go at Fall Back Down by Rancid.
I think it's slightly (haha, slightly) above my skill level so I'm really pushing myself with it.

Saw kiss on Manchester on Friday then back there on Saturday for Hollywood Vampires.
I was really impressed with H.V but I was one of the crowd who really didn't get The Tubes.
The end of their set was bizarre.. singer being led to a spot on stage in drag with a pair of boots that looked like kiss had rejected as being too high then standing teetering while trying sing.
Not for me at all.

If they are d'Addario strings then the ball ends will be different colours - brass, red, black and green (going E-G)
Haha, I've had the bass for over 12 months and only just seen that.
Yeah, they are coloured.

I bought new about 18 months ago but don't remember seeing what strings it had on.
I'll grab some verniers from work tomorrow.
Just out of interest, how often would I be expecting to change strings. I only play at home, few hours a week. I'm still learning.
Cheers.

This may be the silliest question so far but how do I tell what gauge strings I have on my bass?
They are the strings it came with and I wasn't too get the same next time after struggling getting a lighter gauge on the last bass I had... loads of fret rattling so I had to get it set up.
Is it simply a case of getting some verniers on the string?
Cheers folks.

I'm heading to Manchester next Friday to watch SLF (again).

I'm heading to Nottingham on Friday to see The Dollyrots.
I've wanted to see them for years.

I'm heading to Nottingham in 2 weeks to watch The Dollyrots.

I've just got myself a ticket to see The Ruts.
I'm not really a fan but TV Smith of The Adverts (Gary Gilmore's Eyes) is supporting. Its worth the £22.50 just to see him, he's great live. Real old school punk played on an acoustic.

Ex WASP guitarist Chris Holmes will be hitting the stage in 10 mins.
Last minute decision to come.
Who are you seeing live next?
