TC Helicon is a cracking piece of kit. It works stand alone as a vocal effect, but can also add harmonies which it will work out if you plug a guitar into it. Worked with two very good singers who use them to very good effect.
+1 for anything made by TC Helicon. Its good gear and it just works.

She doesn't have the money... 🤣... Unfortunately...

Excellent bass for a remarkably low price.
This has had one modification, the strap pin has been moved up to the horn, apart from that as per factory spec:
Controls are: pickup selector switch, Volume for each p/u and tone control.
All tuners, controls and pickups functioning fine.
Only reason that I'm selling is that I've just bought a Guild Starfire, so don't need this bass as well
I'll courier if necessary, at cost. Otherwise pickup from Uxbridge, NW London.

Crown have a reputation for really solid reliable amplifiers and this rack-mount amp will deliver 600W (RMS) into an 8 ohm loudspeaker system.
Can also be used for stereo PA, 300W per channel into 4 ohms
Obviously needs a preamp for use with a bass
Balanced XLR inputs from a mixer if using for PA
Short-circuit protected, soft switch-on, clip indicators, Weighs 10.4kg
If you need a Speakon adaptor cable to use for bridged mono I can supply one, or you can pick up the bridge speaker feed from the binding posts
Some marks to the rack ears at the back of the amp, but otherwise in good condition - please see photos
I'll courier at cost if necessary, or arrange pickup if you can get to NW London

A couple of samples, strumming and picking.

I'm out. After managing to hold off for a few weeks, I have caved in and purchased the rather nice Guild Starfire that has been sitting in the 'Basses for Sale' section. I'm still one up for the year however since two basses have gone out the door.
Now, Please can someone invest in my 16 channel soundcraft mixer, or my Furch dreadnought and I'll be able to tell the family that I'm financially quits for the month? Otherwise I may have to lie...

When it comes to equipment, cables, connectors etc: If it advertises itself as 'Professional' it almost certainly isn't.

If it's the adaptor in the picture above then what are you cutting off? It looks like a single moulded unit to me - PSU and plug in one.
Ah, me making a naff assumption again... I didn't realise it was a wall wart and thought that it had a separate plug. Doh!

I would just cut off the EU plug and replace it with a Uk 13A version - 3A fuse inside. Only needs a screwdriver and a pair of cutters.

Went to the first date of Cara Dillon's tour at Kings Place in London. Sam Lakeman gave a big 'Thanks' to Edwin Ireland on Bass, who had first met the rest of the band only that afternoon and 'hasn't missed a note'.

Just regular bass cab operating Oompal Loompas. There's eight in a 810, six in a 412 or two in a 115 (shown)
Back in the day each active speaker needed two Oompa Loompas, they operated in Class B push-pull mode...

Hi, I'm interested in a Guild Starfire, but I have to sell an acoustic first. I don't suppose you'd consider a trade?
thanks

The rack effect is a American vertin Aphex Aural exciter powered from 110v supply. So I don't know how it would benefit if I check my current amps fx outputs? Unless I misread what you meant.
No, I just meant check that you have a good earth running from your amp to your bass. But to be honest, on consideration, its a daft remark by me! (Based on a memory of old American gear that used a cheap auto-transformer to drop the 230v to 110v) So please ignore. I'll go and have a nap...

If you have a multimeter worth checking earth continuity from amp to bass through the fx unit. The step-down unit is double-insulated, which is fine, but obvs it doesn't provide an earth.

Just sold a 5 string to Anita14, who is very easy to deal with and travelled over to pick it up - which was a bonus. Honest and recommended to anyone else who decides to trade with her.

Hi, yes, still available.

I have been asked to play guitar in church. Or rather, I asked if I could play as the second acoustic guitar one morning, just to see whether I could still do it.
I have not played acoustic guitar in church for over 20 years. At the time, I was a big fan of dual capo settings (me capo 2 in G, the other guitarist in A. Or indeed, me on Capo 5 or 7, to give the harmonic spread).
Any hints or tips? Any YouTube lessons?
Different capo settings a great idea. Or, if one guitar strums, the other could pick - just simple arpeggios - then you don't have to worry about capo settings. Also if the strum pattern is a bit variable, its easier to keep the tempo correct.
If you regularly decide to play second guitar consider a cheap parlour guitar tuned Nashville style. That alongside standard tuning can sound pretty awesome.

Having different phases isn't a real issue. Having outlets with different ground potentials is. If correctly wired you don't see that, but wherever electricity exists Murphy's Law is in full effect.
Well I wouldn't recommend it. 🙂

This was my reasoning too.

Anyway I deliberately choose to run everything off a single socket. The theory is to have everything connected to the same earth point. Any resistance in the wiring can lead to differences in earth potential and voltages appearing across betwen gear plugged into different sockets. I measured 47volts between earths once, after I got a belt off the mic of course. I re-wired some 6-way mains strips so I have two with 5m leads and one with a 10m lead and Ihave one with the bought 2m lead. First thing I do at every set up is to plucg in to the most convenient socket and run the cables so there is a 6-way at each corner of the stage. Everyone plugs into these and I won't say its idiot proof but it reduces the chance of miss hap.
As John says you've got nearly 3kW to play with and that your PA is probably running at 20% load anyway. With LED lighting most of us could run off a 5A fuse never mind 13A
Running off a single socket also prevents the accidental use of separate phases. The installation (venue, hall, whatever) will regularly have 3-Phase power incoming and a number of power sockets on each phase intended to balance the overall load. Obvs only an idiot would leave different phases close to each other on stage... but stranger things have been known.

Bought an Empress Compressor unit from Jacek - nice simple transaction with the unit arriving carefully packaged and in tip-top condition. I would recommend him to anyone considering a trade, sale or purchase.
