  1. Mike bought a Warwick Thumb from me in a super smooth deal. Great communications throughout, he's a pleasure to deal with and I would have no hesitation buying/selling with him again.  I'm sorry to see the bass go, but it's going to a good home!

  2. For sale is my Warwick Thumb Bolt-on 5 String, in excellent condition. Manufactured in November 2003, I've owned it from new, bought via PMT in Birmingham. It has ovangkol body and neck, wenge fingerboard. Plays beautifully and sounds exactly as you'd expect.
I gigged this in my function band at the time for a couple of years, so it has the usual very slight signs of use...Since then it's had light home use only hence why it's still in excellent condition. The neck has no marks and is lovely and smooth to play, no fret wear, the body looks great as well, no signs of buckle-rash or anything like that. The MEC pickups logos had gold paint originally I remember that quickly wore away to leave black-indented logos...this seems common with Warwicks. Weighs 10lb4oz (4.6Kg) on my scales.
Original Black hardware, with the adjustable nut, all working perfectly. Active MEC pickups with volume/active/passive, pickup-sweep and treble/bass controls.
Included are the original Owner Manual, truss rod tool and Warwick body wax, also a Bodyglove gig bag.
Would prefer collection from Bournemouth area as I'd rather the buyer got to see & play this for themselves before buying. Can meet up if it's a reasonable distance in return for fuel. Cash/Bank transfer only.
Genuinely sad to see this go, but it deserves to be used and appreciated!

  3. It was a total pleasure to meet Graham. He lives literally 4 miles away and despite me living around here for 20 years our paths had never crossed...I'm glad they finally did! Super smooth deal, I bought  a very nice Brubaker NBS1 bass from a man who definitely knows a thing or two about basses, having owned plenty of boutique instruments in his time. Thanks Graham, I appreciate the great deal, and you are right - it's gone to a good home, I'm loving this bass already...such a beautiful & high quality instrument with an amazing pallete of sounds. It'll be out gigging with me in no time :) Can't wait to use it in the studio too 😉

  5. Alex bought my Lakland bass - the whole experience was excellent.  Once the sale was agreed he sent the money to my bank, then  arranged his courier to collect the bass - they even brought a case to put it in.  Great communication, great to deal with - Thanks Alex!

Maybe look in the existing threads  about these, plenty of thoughts and discussion on these, over the past few years.

Also if you look in the SIre website it tells you what the differences are, it helps to know what you are buying before buying it.

For what its worth i love my Gen 1 V7, had it since they first came out, and have just sent a Gen 2 P7 5 back to Andertons. The Gen 2’s are nicer but mine had an issue.

What was the issue Dave?  I'm in a similar situation...first Gen 2 V7 went back because the pole pieces in a pickup had dropped low at one end... the replacement has an issue with the finish on the neck so I'm taking that one back too.  I love the sound and playability, but  QC on build/finish has been poor for me.  It's suprised me as most reviews say finish is great.

  7. Lakland 55-01 with Bartolini NTMB preamp upgrade.
    Candy Apple Red
Serial number dates it  2002 (made in Korea I believe), I bought it used approx 12 years ago.  Selling due to clearout, too many basses and something's got to go :(

In good condition, looks lovely.  Set up nicely and plays well all over the fingerboard.  A few very minor rash marks as to be expected for a guitar of this age, but nothing that detracts from the instrument in any way.  See photo of scratch in the lacquer on the rear - I've tried to capture it clearly in the photo, but in real life you'd barely notice it.

Collection only from Bournemouth area, happy for you to try it first.

  8. I bought a Lakland 55-01 with NTMB preamp here s/h for under £400 a couple of years ago. Worth every penny, it's my main gigging bass for pubs/functions etc, it also records well. Very playable, sounds good (very Fendery to my ears, which is what I wanted), well made too.
