Lexgeerlings

Hi There! I have what I believe is a Fender Jazz Bass plus from the 90's but I've come across some details I cannot confirm. Seems to me most of them have the battery in the same cavity as the rest of the electronics and the potmeters are in line with the strings. Also the string trees are different. Can anybody help me figure out when this bass was built and if it is an original Fender? Thanx in advance! Lex
