    It can be used like that, but honestly you will missing out on 90% of the features and attraction of it, as it will seriously limit the range of it's tweaking/customization capabilities, in which case there might be better/cheaper options on the market.

    I mean it very much is a one time, or at least only once in while customization tweaking in the software editor, with it connected to your PC, finding your preferred amp model, and IR cab sim and some additional tweaking only possible in the software editor, getting it to sound exactly as you wish, which I'd say it is quite essential.

    It isn't really meant for constant tweaking.

    What is the issue, if I may ask, it isn't exactly rocket science to download an app and connect the pedal with an USB cable?

    Not making use of the software editor would be kind of like buying a pedal but be restricted to only using 10% or so of all the knobs actual range.

    Or literally like buying 3 amps and 8 cabs, and HPF/LPF pedal, but never using, heck not even trying, the latter, and only ever using 1 of the amps and 1 of the cabs, not even ever just trying out the others as much as just once.

    So yeah, possible, but kind of a silly waste.

    Apparently several users have found it can be a bit of an unmerrygoround, and so, being all to familiar with working with buggy software, it’s not something I personally would choose to introduce into my leisure time, tbh.

    (Hence I’m putting together a pedalboard with as little menu diving as possible 😉👍)

  2. I've been perusing the Hotone website. The product itself looks promising, but the one thing that causes me reticence is... the copywriting! Why? because it's really bad, and if a company can't find someone to proofread their publicity (how hard can it be?) what else is being overlooked? (I don't know man, it just seems a bit amateurish.)
    This 'translation' issue is also evident in some of the diagrams and icons within the user interface; cryptic icons and layout that aren't particularly intuitive to me, compared to, say, the Headrush stuff.

    What do you think? Did you notice this too? Do you think the interface looks fine? Do you think it doesn't reflect on the product?

    Hi, i have the 4 string version (as shown in the catalogue picture). Ive know idea which knob does what. Can you help?

    I have a 'Tanglewood Peacemaker II' (and agree; the knobs aren't that intuitive). They are as follows:

    Front = Bridge volume
    Top = Neck Volume

    Bottom = Bass
    Rear = Treble

  4. I’ve been researching this, and other Mod Devices products. I am not easily swayed, but l must say l think this may be the way to go. When you see it in action you realise how it addresses many of the limitations of other rig solutions.

    l’ll find some links to add to this thread.

    Obviously there is more information for the already released products than the new ‘Dwarf’, but it seems that it’s almost functionally the same, just smaller than their ‘Duo’ models.

  5. I have a late 80's Hohner 5 string version; the 'B2V', and installed active EMG pups in the mid 90's. It plays really well, although I never felt the body and neck had the resonance/tone that I'd experienced when playing a friend's Status. I haven't tried a Steinberger but I've heard that the Hohners are somewhat comparable to them even though they are 'just' licensed copies. The active EMG pups make the best of my Hohner, and I'll keep it for posterity, but it'd be interesting to see side by side comparison with similarly spec'd Status, Hohner and Steinberger models.
