Hi there bass players, I've been looking at this sight for a while - thought it was time I introduced myself I am a 37 year old that has been gigging for many years largely in the Leicester/Nottingham area but all round the UK really until I moved over to the Netherlands earlier this year. I've just finished recording with a band over here and the album will go on release over here in March, although I don't think it'll be stocked in that many places! I have liked precision basses and ampegs for as long as I found out that was the sound on my favourite record but I wish they (precisions) were lighter - had a different neck profile - and a bit more eleagant in appearance. - unfortunately for me I have never mastered playing with a plectrum (long story) I play with my fingers so I don't get the tone I have always aspired to. As for influences I like uk punk, ska, indie bands and britpop like Razorlight, Arctic monkeys etc. - I also like the Amy Winehouse kinda thing - I don't get metal or most classic rock music or modern Hip-hop etc. (but the 80's stuff I think is great - it's probably an age thinge) I am lucky enough to own a lot of basses, amps and equipment - (if anybody is interested I will put a list together) I suffer from serious G.A.S. I am having a couple of basses built to my specs by Nikola Adamovich (www.adamovic.nl) a very talented luthier and a nice and understanding guy - I'll post some pics on the new builds page Anyway that's a bit more than I meant to write...uh Hi.
