most DRs (low rider/high beams/sun beams) don't have a wrap - and I think it lools better for it

but they do coloured strings which are fun

Or tune back using the harmonic on fret 7 (on the A string) and fret 12 (on the E) - I find this "more" in tune than the above method for tuning up.

But that is personal preference, so please no one have a go at me

Love it to bits, it does everything for me.
Without it - I'd say most of my stuff would sound empty.

I got a friend who needs a 50-100watt amp for uni. He wants one with a dark and beefy sound though.


any suggestions?

my Ibby BTB470 can be seriously dark, if you roll full on bridge pup, and cut a bit of treble off the on board preamp, then has a super dark tone

Seriously want one of these, for rehearsals where I need a bus to transport me around!!

LH500 - best choice if you want a simple crisp sound!!!
loads of grunt, loads of volume to grunt
really simple use, basically just plug in and go, no fiddling with eq knobs and that stuff

Got my recommendation to anyone who needs a 500 watt amp for less than £450

(haha, I got mine when it was £180, cos I got it last christmas - though it was a gamble then)

LMIII (or an old II) and a barefeced compact is the lightest you can have for MASSIVE sound, really check out some of the barefaced stuff - just alex claber about where you can try one

I'd get a Hartke LH500 and Barefaced Compact, I power to weight to value is what you want
LH500 - cheap and really really loud
Compact - seriously light and great sound

had mine almost a year now, no problems at all (I got mine while they were still £180 new, now they have almost doubled)
lovely tone, I never need the eq section on anything but as flat as possible (bass - 2, mid - full, treble - 3)
never needed to D.I it, as I run it 500watts into a Berg HT210 and HT115

however because of the Bergs being so good, they pick-up the tiny bit of hiss it puts out
but with a Barefaced Compact, never heard it hiss once
