  1. Selling my incredible Matrix GT1600fx which I have owned for a couple of years. Bought new from Matrix UK and used with my helix. Perfect for any FRFR set up.

Has always been rack cased so is in excellent condition.

it fits in a shallow rack and is vey light. Tons of power and headroom with 800w per side. Runs down the 4ohm if you need it.

Happy to pack up if you would like to arrange a courier. Or can meet locally.

    The blurb:

The Matrix GT1600FX is a 1.6kw (mono bridged), 800 watts a side stereo power amp designed for guitarists who need tons of power in a lightweight, quiet and cool 2U package. Whether you're a bassist needing a power amp delivering maximum clean, controlled wattage to your speakers or simply a guitarist needing maximum power at higher impedences or even just someone who likes to melt the faces of the first 5 rows of an audience, the GT1600FX gives you unrivalled power and sound quality.

  2. Old thread but I’ve been trying to figure out something similar to this.

I’ve just bought an ABM600 of a fellow BC and love it so far.

I’m moving away from helix/matrix power amp. I’ve also got a few of the usual pedals in front of the ABM including an Origin Effects Bass Rig pre amp.

my question is around Should I use the DI on the Amp to FOH which then doesn’t get any cab colouring or use the DI out of my pre amp which has a cab sim?? But then I don’t get the FOH benefit of the ABM??

anyone got any thoughts on this. ?

  3. £700 each.

Hi dudes. I’m looking at selling or trading my BB11s for Barefaced 210s or 410 with cash making the difference either way.

Both cabs in mint condition with padding barefaced fitted covers. I’ve used them for FRFR with my helix but I’m changing direction so looking to sell them.

please note I am only interested in trading for the barefaced 10 inch cabs.

I will take pics as soon as I get chance, they are currently under wraps in our band lock up.

Location South Birmingham. Can possibly meet.

  4. Thanks for your replies guys. I guess what I’m asking is what you keep your pedals in or on… pedal boards, racks or any other ideas?  To give more context I’ve just sold my helix and am going back to pedals. I’m used to keeping my helix at the back in front of my cabs, but as stages start to get bigger I was thinking about having tone shaping gear at the back and stuff I need to use down the front.

  5. Hi. Has anyone experimented with placing their pedal board at the back of the stage and using only a tuner + expression pedal our front? I’m trying to think of ideas to keep my stage area clean as I don’t use many stomps once they are turned on. Only use expression to turn on/off overdrive so don’t need a large pedalboard out in front of me. The other idea I had was to start rack-mounting them but that seems like a whole different challenge. Any thoughts, ideas or tips?

  6. Just changed my set up to move away from Helix, and planning to go back to a pedalboard. So I have just purchased a Bass Butler as a pre amp to my Matrix 1600. First try out I'm really happy with it. However I'm getting a lot of hiss on the hi gain guitar channel. So will add in a noise gate. Also considering a compressor pedal.

I'm interested in hearing from anyone that is running a Bass Butler into a power amp. Are there any issues that you have come up against? What do I need to know

    Many thanks
