Hello.
Are you interested in a TecAmp Puma 1000?
Best regards -
The quality is really something. This bass was made before Clover changed their company from a small business to a huge brand, I don't know if the quality standarts remained the same (I hope so) and I never played one "new Clover" but I can tell that this one of the best basses I played so far. The only thing I don't really understand is the preamp but hey, nobody's perfect.

When I saw the Flamed Maple on the top I just fell in love then I looked on back and I figured out that the body is all made of the same wood. Nice touch from the luthiers of Clover.
I think it was made in 1994, carbon fiber neck, bartolini pickups and preamp (BTW the preamp is a TCT 3 band with active/passive switch), matching headstock and a nice bridge Status like.
Overall, this huge bass (36" it's pretty large for me) has a fantastic sound and construction.
Pros:
- beautiful flamed maple on the body
- the pickups are awesome
- very confortable to play (the neck doesn't dive and for me that's a must)
Cons:
- it's a bit heavy (4,8 Kg)
- 36" scale (for me it's a challenge because I have to learn how to play this thing but still, I'm very happy)
- the preamp is boost only and there is a big diference of volume when you switch to passive (in passive mode the volume increases a lot)
I just wanted to share my happiness.
If you have any questions or suggestions be my guest.
Cheers -
Thanks for the reply FlatEric.
I know that these basses are pretty rare. But I think that I will change the preamp anyway.
The OBP3 is one thing that can get out and install it on other bass in half an hour besides I want to take pictures and keep all the original parts for reassembly in the future.
I found this wiring on Seymour Duncan website and Now I understand how the wiring of the active pickups is done.
http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=active_soapbar
The only thing I can't understand is if it's possible to use one battery for all (PU's and preamp).
-
thanks for the reply!
The bass is definitely passive but the pickups not and that's why there is a battery compartment on the back. The sound is amazing and the pickups are great but the controls are like the concentric pots on a Jazz Bass 62 RI.
I've been reading some reviews and tutorials and for EMG is possible to run a preamp and pickups with only one battery. In my case the wiring of the active pickups confuses me... -
Oops... I think I posted this topic in the wrong section.
Anyone got any idea? -
I just found this wiring diagram and it would be perfect for me.

What about the active pickups connection? It's got to be like in this wiring or there is anything different? -
Hello,
I have the possibility to trade my Warwick FNA to an Ibanez MC 924 and since it's not the active version, I would to know I can install an Aguilar OBP 3 on the bass.
This is the bass:

It has two volume knobs and two tone knobs. The only thing I'm not sure about is that the pickups are active (if I'm well informed are EMG).
I was thinking about having a master volume, balance, concertic knob for bass / treble, mids and the switch for the mids freq.
Any help would be great!
Thanks! -
Highly recommended dealer! Very patient (the bank transfer took a while to be cleared) and very honest.
I bought the G Lab Wah from him and the pedal is in mint condition. The package was well done.
Thanks Graeme!!! -

I had a B3 and i found that bottom end horrible. The solution for the problem was using a Boss GEB7 after the B3 to correct the "exagerated" freqs... I hope it helps
