  3. Not sure - It's a Status graphite original - not sure about the fingerboard...looks the same as the fretted neck...the bass came to me with the fretless neck on...but I dont (cant) play fretless...so I swapped it on day one - and have had the other neck stored carefully....will take some pics and add to the post when I get home later if people want them...Maybe Foxx can shed more light on my behalf...it was his bass originally!!

  6. Hi Due to my inabilities with even the most basic of soldering, I have decided to put up my lovely Hohner Jack up for Sale. Its in pretty good nick for a well-used 20 year old bass - and has brand new Elites strings on it. A few nicks, dings and scratches but nothing too major at all - its still a very fine looking bass - Ive tried to show the "nasty bits" on the pics.....but really, there's nothing too major The active circutry needs some attention though - there are two wires that have become disconnected (by me, trying to "remedy" a problem) and it could use a new jack socket as the one on there is a bit loose....I have been advised that this work will be a) inexpensive and easy to do, but it really is totally beyond me... So I just want to sell it to someone who can do the work - as a result, Im looking for just £100 (ono)inc courier delivery anywhere in the UK......or you can pick up from St Albans (J6 M1, Junc 21A M25) PM with any queries or questions please and Ill try to help Alex
  7. Ok - Ive done it now - I have managed to break the wires that connect to the jack....can anyopne recommend a good (and hopefully reasonable) guitar repairer in Hertfordshire or N London (UK of course!!) ..Now Im desperate!!
  8. Help please - i was planning to invest in a new guitar but recent economic pressures means that has to be put on hold....so I have to turn to emergency home repair. I have a 1980's Hohner Jack bass which has active pickups selected by a switch on the body....only thing is, they do not work, when the switch is in the "passive" position its just about OK (a little crackly) but the active does not work at all - obviously I have put a new 9V battery in.... Im pretty sure the jack socket is loose - a week ago, I could get the active LED to light if I manipulated the lead in the socket - although this has now stopped working. The socket does feel very loose when I put the plug in...so, can I buy a replacement socket - and what exactly do I need to buy (and where can I buy it from online in the UK) to fix the problem - I have had a look on ebay but cant find anything suitable - I'm hopeing these replacement parts are pretty standard - this bass is never going to be a collectors piece, so no need to go overboard!!! Help please - very grateful for it!!! Alex
  9. Im really interested in this - I need a new bass to replace my old honer jack thats really no longer working - i'm a true bedrrom player but do like slapping - is this a true Statsu - I once played a friends graphite status about 20 years ago - and never forgot just how funky it soudned when slapped...i have been lloking for a status headless but cant find anyhting that is remotely affordable - so this sounds perfect for me.....can anyone advise please thanks Alex
