Lately I'm seeing Hofner violin basses in store/on line with the Hofner name (in gold lettering) on the body near the neck pickup..is this something new, or are there authentic 1960s models with this?..I have a '66 but it doesnt have that on the body, just the raised logo on the headstock....the reason I'm asking is. someone is selling one here in town and says it a '67 model, but it has that logo on the body.

Machines was correct in his statement waaay back in 2007..as with any low price instrument, it's a hit and miss affair..my Stagg came and after I did a minor intonation adjustment, it stays in tune and plays great, with wonderful bottom end..I've gigged with it many times.
