Good morning/afternoon/evening. I've been listening to Johnny Cash a lot recently and have been wondering juat what electric bass Grant Marshall uses in his earlier days. It's black and looks like a solidbody Hofner, but i just can't find one that looks the same. Any clues would be useful, and i apologise if this has already been posted. Thanks , Lewis

All i know is that when the tone knob is turned towards the low end it just gradually attenuates until silent. The pickup is quiet anyway.

Hello, i have an original 63 Hofner senator bass. It has one pickup, however although it is the original one; it is broken, it doesnt produce the bass tone, only treble. I was wondering if there is any way of repairing it, or if anyone knows someone who can. If not, how to go about putting a new one in. It really plays beautifully apart from the pickup. Looking forward to hearing any advice. Thanks for reading.

Good morning everybody. I'm new here, hope to be using this site to exchange tips and look for musicians to play with. I've been playing for around 16 years, currently own a marcus miller jazz bass and a 63 hofner senator bass, (with a dodgy pickup). Hope to speak to some of you soon.
