  1. Right!

ICEpower200ASC ordered from Profusion here in the UK

    www.profusionplc.com

Remove all wiring connectors from the knackered, smelly board and note where they came from - took pics just in case

Undo 5 nuts and remove along with spring washers

CAREFULLY remove board with a bit of wiggling and patience

Fit new board in the big, empty gap. Power cables may need a little shifting to get it in

Breathe a sigh of relief when all the holes line up

Refit washers and nuts and nip down. I dabbed a bit of my favourite nail varnish on the threads to act as a virtual thread locker

    Refit connectors

    Refit lid

Connect up.... a quick pray and BINGO - we're all groovy

So... not cheap, but not difficult

    The Shuttle 3.0 lives again

Thanks to everyone for their input

  2. Hi.

I bought a 5 string modern player bass recently.

It has a 4 position switch to give you pickup combinations.

The pot was loose on the plate and has been spinning round...

There is a black and white wire dangling near the switch connections.

Does anybody have a wiring diagram of this model of bass please?

    Thanks.

    Jon.

  3. I contacted profusion here in the UK

Wih VAT and carriage i'm looking at £144.13  (or a TC BAM200 new with VAT and postage for £117.50.....)

I was always under the impression that these were 300W @ 4 ohm amps?????? Not 200w as per the "blurb"

Hmmmmm...... what to do. Not sure I love it that much 😁

  4. thank you everybody for your suggestions

I'm pretty sure it'll cost more than its worth to bring it back to life, but it definitely has sentimental value.

I'll shove it in a cupboard for a few months whilst i mourn my loss :(

  5. Hi All

I made a boo boo with my lovely little Genz Shuttle 3.0

I was mildly drunk and testing a speaker using leads with spade connectors on the ends and one fell off and earthed on the front of the amp

It went quiet and then the standby light went red for a while and then back to blue

    Phew!..... I thought

I turned it on later that evening and with the mute switch engaged or any 3 of the tone shaping buttons I get a hum through my cab

It also spikes when turning on

EQ works and there's plenty of volume on tap - its just the spike on startup and the hum when muted/tone shaped

I'm pretty certain the answer will be "fecked mate", but ......

Is there anywhere in the UK that could repair it?

I guess it all comes down to the cost. I didn't pay much for it, but it was my first "proper" amp and i'm rather attached to it

I've had a look inside, but there's nothing obvious - it did have "that smell" though

    I'd appreciate any advice

    Cheers

    Jon

  6. Hi

I like the look of grille cloth on bass cabs

I bought some from E Bay, but it was a swine to get it taught over the frame. It wasn't tough enough to protect the driver within a gigging cabinet

Does anybody know of a source/technique for achieving a sturdy cloth grille, or even a cloth that shrinks when heat is applied to it? (I've read about this online)

    Appreciate any advice

  7. Me again

    Bit more done

Cut the pipe with my band saw. Lifted the blade guide up as high as it would go and then gently rolled the tube round making sure I was hitting my 150mm markings

    Came out a treat.

Roughed the plastic surface up with sandpaper and then used a cheap n nasty spray in very fine coats. Came out fine.

    Stapled wadding in place

Have also fitted base, but no picture.

Next up is some routing of the edges

Crossover headache is looming. I'll crack it, but its my least fave part

    So far so good

One point to make. The top panel brace has a notch out of it as per the plans. I glued this to the top panel before i'd built the cab up

The brace that goes inside the notch is not on the centre line of the baffle. So, my notch was not quite in the right place

I enlarged the notch so its fine now, but it might be worth leaving the brace off until you can see where it needs to be

hope that makes some kind of sense

  8. I must admit that I felt awful when I looked the photo online rather than on my phone - What a dump! (the whole garage is like it... and my shed.... and trailer.... and greenhouse)

I think i've inherited this trait from my recently departed and massively missed father ☹️

We were never the tidiest of people when we got our teeth into a project

I always clean down between jobs, but this one seems to be taking the michael somewhat

Why do I need a battery for a vespa on the bench?

Right.... next bench pic will be MUCH tidier ☺️

I've just ordered the wood for a BFM Omni15 Tallboy too 😲. I feared that I may have this one done before the christmas break (definitely need a project to get my hands out of the quality street tin..)

    Onwards and upwards!
