1. Thanks for that - yeah it totally kicks arse, blows my old Sansamp BDDI away for recording purposes with ease!
2. I've got the Tech 21 VT Bass for recording directly into a USB audio interface but was wondering if the sound would be improved if I put a DI box after it? Does anyone use it in this fashion Thanks in advance!
3. Hello! I've just received my new Yamaha BB615 and was wondering how to maximise it's sound for direct to PC recording (i.e. the pedal will just go straight into a compressor before going into a USB audio interface). Inside the PC I'll be running Line 6 Bass Amps sims. In terms of the types of music I will need it for, it will vary from gentler pop stuff all the way to Limp Bizkit/ Korn type nu-metally shenanigans. I'm leaning towards the VT Bass because I've heard some great things about it however before I take the plunge I'd like to ask you guys advice. Many thanks indeed!!!
4.
I've played these basses in shops many times and have been very impressed for the price. I'm mulling picking one up but have some questions for those who have lived with them for a while:- 1. Does the stained brown finish hold up well? If the finsh did get damaged would the body stand up to being sanded back and oiled? 2. How is the intonation? I've heard that the bridge struggles to get good intonation on the five and six string models. Cheers-
I had an SRX 505 which I sold last year - I had this finish : which looked great although it was never gigged so I don't know how it would hold up under any kind of punishment. As for the intonation I have to admit I did struggle a bit with that, although I'm no set-up expert and if I had shelled out some money to get it done properly that could well have been sorted. If you get one just tell the guy in the shop to set it up
5. Ok cool - are more/ less spaced out strings an advantage or disadvantage in any way? I haven't got small fingers or anything - by the way my old bass was an Ibanez SRX 505. I've been looking seriously at the BB415 but it's price has jumped £70 in like 4 months bringing it into a bracket occupied by other basses. At £300 I would definately have bought it Thanks for all the replies so far by the way
6. Cheers for the info - it's purely for recording not live play. How does fret spacing effect the sound (if at all)
7. Hello! I need an all round bass for recording which does rock, nu metal all the way down to gentler indie/ folkie stuff - maybe this is too much to ask for but what do people think would be better out of the Yamaha BB415 and the Warwick Rockbass Corvette for these purposes? Many thanks in advance
8. This guy just bought my Sansamp Bass DI off me - turned up spot on time despite coming from a different part of London, very polite and no haggling over the cash. A genuinely good egg on that evidence
9. Perfect condition only ever used in studio. Would like £80 if possible! Boxed with manual
10.
I'm sad it went to someone else but thank god because my bank balance couldnt handle it
Yeah a thoroughly nice chap popped round and picked it up no problems! Next job is to get rid of my Sansamp Bass DI
11. I'll post if it gets sold so you'll know - cheers for that
12.
arrrgh! Im in Morden and Im trying to save money!
If you are definately interested I might knock it down a bit!
13. Hello this is actually my first post! I was sent here from Music Radar because I want to sell my Ibanez SRX 505 I've had it for a few years but it's never been gigged, purely used for studio work. It's in perfect condition apart from a bit of discolouration on the metal on the bridge (I have no idea how that happened - it's spent it's life largely sat in a gig bag). I stupidly took the pictures before putting the truss rod cover back on but I have it no worries It was £400 new and I'd like £200 if possible. I am based in Morden, south London at the end of the Northern line so PM me if interested. Thanks for taking a look
