1. The search is going pretty good thank's Phil. We aim to start getting people in over the next couple of weeks for auditions, but I am genuinely pleased with the response and peoples nice comments about the band. Thank you all. (Jammers probably been spamming people too)
2.
Visited the Sole man at his shop today, he didn't mention the bassman was leaving. There's not many bassists in the Boro who could fill Jamies shoes as most are rock players and not really into the groove and slap. Nicks probably the man, although there is another superb player in the local prog rock outfit Brotherhoods Roundabout.
Dave has probably forgotten..... he's not as young as he used to be Are you talking about Ken? Do you have a contact number for him? Thanks Marcus
3.
I'd love to play in a band like this! But I think I am a bit too young.
Hi, You are the first 'local' guy to express an interest. If you think you are up to it we would be more than happy to try you out. Can you tell me a bit about yourself, what you are into, experience etc. Cheers Marcus
4. Thanks for all the responses. I have had a number of PM's, but I have been away from a PC for a couple of days and will action those asap. Nick, thanks mate. We need to hook up soon, maybe pop over to a rehearsal. Otherwise, please don't be put off by 'how good we are', its a lovely compliment but its about the groove not just the licks. Peace
5. Come on guys! There must be someone in the Cambs area who has the Funk!!
6. Hi all, I am the guitarist from Groove Cartel, a 6 piece funk band from Cambridgeshire. www.groovecartel.co.uk Our current bassist and close friend Jamie, Bassjamm on here will be leaving us in December. Obviously we will all miss him greatly both for his playing and friendship but we know he has learnt a lot whilst with us and enjoyed the fantastic venues he has played. Anyway, the show must go on and we need to recurit a replacement. We have played the UK's top veunes for our genre including the Jazz Cafe, HiFi Club and The Yardbird, together with many cool smaller venues and Festivals. We have a full promo pack, a two hour set and professional approach to both band administrations and performance. We also have our own internal band 'intranet' for communication of information and file sharing of works in progress etc, and our own rehearsal space. This is a great opportunity for a ethusiastic and skilled player to jump into Jamie's trainers and run with it. We play 25 - 35 gigs a year so aim to get out every fortnight, we also rehearse fortnightly in Peterborough. If you are interested and would like to receive a promo pack and live recording of a full set, please get in touch. Regards Marcus Groove Cartel
