also i live in ireland can you check out postage for me?

got a pedal from someone in the uk before and it wasnt much anyway

  2.
It's still here at the moment, but I am holding it for someone.
as i said on the phone if that deal falls through ill definately take it anyway.

  3.
I am not "someone". I am JimBobTTD - HEAR ME ROAR!!!!!!!!
i apologise jim bob, thats a very nice roar you have...

  4.
It's great at being a Bongo...that means the best sounding bass ever made!

But no, I wouldn't say it's GREAT at sounding like...say...a fender jaguar bass.
i was talking about the sr506 someone asked about it just its good at doing everything but not really special in any one thing.,

i love the bongo sound still figuring out what to do with the eq, found a very nice slap tone and other than that i like it flat..
havent tried a jaguar but id prefer this over any fender ive played...(but i have only played a few im not flaming them or anything)

music shops are useless here so i rarely try anything out

  5.
Nice - congrats on the new bass. I hear great things about the Bongos, plus a lot of criticism of their appearance.

Mind you, I'm positively drooling over the Ibanez in that last pic you have. Mmmmmmm.
its pretty nice, its got a very nice neck. its good at everything but not really amazing at anything.
great for the price. i reccomend them highly

  6.
Ahh, i can never tell the difference between those two. It's a nice colour though and a superb bass. I think £1600 is a decent enough deal brand new.
every picture of it looks different,, theyre awkward colours i was looking through pics to pick colours and this one looked blue more gray/black in person much nicer.

    i think its reasonable anyway,
best i found online and came to me over a weekend prettymuch.

  7.
That's a good price - where do you live? I'm guessing it's not the UK??
no im in ireland, prices here are sh*t, and theres nothing in shops anyway.
most shops just have starter stuff and a few mid level things overpriced(and only fenders stuff usually with the mid level stuff) so i bought this without ever trying even a 4 string bongo.. so glad it wasnt a piece of crap when it arrived.
sold my SUB which i loved to get money for this, well worth it.

shipping was only 20 sterling so very happy with the whole thing.

  8. its sapphire black,

i didnt have much choice on the colour it was either take it as it is or wait 4 months for what chose.
got it from the bassgallery they matched an online price so got it for 1600 sterling. way better than thomann or any oif those, prices on thomann a while back were 2600, they suck these days.

  9.
Indeed. I prefer the contrasting guard (and the chrome hardware) to the all black ones - makes it look more like......a MusicMan!
yeh i like the matt black on the body but the hardware.

  10.
I would happily park my arse on that seat - lovely lovely bass. Howzit sound? Bet it's thunderous ...er like my arse :)
so would i, it sounds great but so far ive only heard it through a crappy busker amp thing i have which cant handle anything and also some headphones through a pedal.. even through them it sounds great but this weekend ill get to try it out with my gallien krueger rig... i will cry

very nice bass its the most expensive thing ive ever owned, its pretty heavy and has a slight bit of neck dive but worn high its nto really a problem.

  11. this spaceaged toilet seat appeared at my door yesterday.. tis very very nice,
havent got a chance to play it through my good amp but even through a crappy 10watt busker amp its very nice.

im not a huge fan of the pearl pickguard atall, im looking for anyone whod be interested in a trade... the pg is perfect, protective plastic still on it and everything.

  12. got in contact with alex from bass gallery anyway, he said he can match that price which is great but it took many many emails to find out how much delivery would be.
does anyone else have this problem too?... cause anytime i order over the internet and have some questions it takes so long to get an answer out of the people.
the first email i sent maybe had 3 questions in it, one gets answered so i have to ask the other two again and just keep going through this process till eventually i get an answer, i dont think they read past the first line of emails.
if theyre busy its understandable but id prefer a slow but complete reply than having to annoy them and send 5 or 6 emails asking the same things over and again, it just makes more work for them.
this happens any time i have any questions about a product and im not talking about little things i mean price, whats in stock, delivery etc.

    maybe its just me though.
ive still got one question left to be answered from them wish me luck..

  13.
I have always found that contacting before ordering is the best way to go. I usually say something like I have to have it within a week as I am out of the country after that for x number of weeks and need to take it with me. Also you would be suprised how much power saying you are a regular conributor to this website holds ;-)
only problem for me is the bongos probably gonna take 3 months anyway just for ordering it.. unless they happen to have the options i want in stock. i might get rumbled pretty quickly.

about the saying youre a regular contributor, really? how would you slip that in to an order....

  14.
Interesting, they claim on their website they can get the Sterling and Stingray dual pickup-models lefthanded, but I don't think Ernie Ball make those in lefty versions. There is only one Sterling HS around (a Dargie Delight, owned by a lefthanded friend of Sterling Ball who's on the leftybassist.com forum). They don't have a mirrorred version of the required preamp and so far have refused to have one manufactured, except for that one-time-only bass.
also on the bongo 6 they have a piezo option and matching headstock option.. i assume (and hope) its just bad site design

  15.
Personally I've never had a bad experience with them, but others here have had bad service from them

Maybe get a written quote from them and see if Martin at The Gallery will match or beat it? - http://www.thebassgallery.com/musicman.html
good idea
would an email do or do i need a physical letter or something? ive been in the bass gallery so atleast i know they exist anyway and ive heard good things

  16.
if you really want a bongo with little hassle you should try string 'n' things, they're the UK distributor and you can order one to your exact specs, though it may be more expensive and it would take a few months.

That said, i've heard a few people say good things on here about the bass centre.
im having a look now, i might be on the wrong page but i cant see anything about musicmans... link? if youre bothered.
    ill keep searching anyway
ill have to probably wait 1-3 months for bass centre anyway so aslong as its not too much more thats expected the price might be a problem

  17. that doesnt sound too good... anyone else?
is this a once off or the norm for them.
theyre one of the only places i found that wasnt way overpriced.

anyone have any ideas where to get a bongo 6 HH that will deliver to ireland for not too bad a price?
