  1. Yeah. Hopefully going to be able to have a go on an RB4 which is essentially the same as the RB9, just the combo version and see where that leaves me!
  2. Okay....so it seems after considering the Laney, I've been pushed rather quickly back onto the market for an Ashdown! The general consensus that the Mag300 would be the better option over the Rb9?
  3. An Ashdown Mag300 is also a possible contender. I borrowed a Mag400 to do some recording a while ago and was more than happy with the sound I got, but after seeing some mixed reviews on here, I wasn't sure I wanted one of my own. Aesthetically I prefer the Ashdown range, but that's not really the main priority!
  4. Been looking to buy a head for a little while now, as my combo just isn't practical enough without transport whilst I'm in uni for gigging. I came across the RB9 whilst doing some research online for what's available in my price range and it seems perfect. It was also suggested to me in my local music store. Just wondered if anyone has an opinion on whether the RB9 will be sufficient. I need something fairly lightweight for transport purposes and affordable, and the RB9 seems to fit the bill. I play in a punk rock band in small-medium venues. Any thoughts? Any help or suggestions would awesome. Cheers. Joe.
  5. i would grab this with both hands, but i don't know if its for sale. if i grabbed it with both hands now, im pretty sure that would just be theft.
  6. I don't know who's in big brother, so I'm gonna assume i don't know them.
  7. I'm playing a Fender Precision which I've had for quite some time now. Real sturdy and reliable-and most importantly for me, it's simple. It's a Mexican make as I could't afford to shell out for a more expensive model at the time but it's still going strong and I love playing it so much, I can't see any time when I'm going to want to change it. Joe.
  8. I'm studying in Cardiff so I live in Cathays, but at the minute I'm actually in Wrexham, just for out of term time. Back down south in a week or so. Joe.
  9. Evenin' all. Been reading some of your posts helping first time buyers and im in the same sort of bind myself! You all seemed a rather helpful bunch so I figured I'd join up and say hey. I play in a melodic punk rock band in the south wales area but I love playing anything from pop punk to reggae. I'm in the market for a cheap and cheerful head. I've been looking at Asdown Mag300 and Laney RB9 to give you an idea of my price range and was wondering if anyone had any advice? I've been blagging to borrow at gigs and rekon it's about time I shaped up and got my own head and looking to buy asap so any help would be greatly appreaciated! Cheers. Joe.
