Hi Chris. Weighed it 3 times lol. It says 9lb 2oz on every try! Never weighed a guitar before. It certainly feels lighter than my mid 90's ray

Hi Chris

I would be prepared to travel up to an hour so that would be to the M62 at Howden/Goole. I know that leaves a good drive for you but trust me, the bass is worth the drive! I hope this helps.

For sale is my perfect as new Stingray Starry Night. Ebony fretboard, stainless steel frets, baked maple flamed neck. MM case and tags/warranty card. 2 case keys. This looks like it just came out of the shop. Amazing blue/silver sparkle finish that changes colours from different angles. 3 band EQ.

I have just been lucky enough to get my hands on a PDN Stingray Starry night bass made last year (obviously). The fit and finish, playability and sound is top notch. I own 2 Gibson Les Paul Customs too that were made in the last 5 years and they are not even nearly as perfect as this. Gibson need a tour round the musicman factory to see how it should be done!

I think you put that quite well. If I had heard Kid A first I would never have listened to them again! I first heard them when I saw them live. A wall of sound! I went straight out and bought the tape. Still got it I think. What you said about ACDC is probably something I could say about a lot of bands over the years. Manic Street Preachers definitely fall into that category for me.

Radiohead are the only support band I have seen that were better than the main act at Hull tower ballroom when Pablo Honey came out. I undertsood them then but since the Bends album I have found them impossible to listen to, let alone understand. Quite the opposite to you!

Saw them at Bridlington Spa years ago. One gig I won't forget!

Maybe thats why the classic I saw in Coral didn't grab me, because it has a rosewood board not figured maple. The more I look at it, the more I like it though.

I do prefer the natural finishes. I didn't know they only did them for about a year in Coral. The one I saw was 2011 I think. It looks a little bit pink to me. Maybe it was just the photos I saw.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I will try and pick up a used one first. I saw one for £1200 but not sure if the Coral Red colour is for me. I'm not in a rush to buy so I can wait for the right one to come up for sale.

Hi all. I currently have a mid 90's MM Stingray 4 , 2 band eq and love the thing. It's one of my best gear purchases ever. I'm thinking of getting a Stingray classic 4 too. I'm a total sucker for birdseye! My questions are.... Will there be enough of a difference soundwise to my Stingray? Will they sound almost identical? I know there are differences such as radius, slab body etc. Anyone with experience of both? I only started bass after years of playing guitar 6 months ago and have never had the chance to play a Classic Stingray. Wish I had picked up bass years ago.
