Bass players - here is your Christmas present from http://tomreadbass.co.uk **CHRISTMAS TUNES AT THE END OF THE POST**
Over 100 charts added to the website today, taking the resource to a total of 1313 accurate bass transcriptions. And they remain completely FREE for you to help yourself. No sign-up or registration required, and no limit to how many you can access. Furthermore, thanks to the "Buy Me A Beer" donations from site users, the main transcription resource will continue to be free.
Some of the newly-added charts are improved versions of previous ones, but most are brand new charts. I have written some of these as preparation for my own gigs, some as part of arrangements I have done for cruise ship bands, and the others were bespoke orders from online customers. They all opted to share their finished chart on the website, which meant they got the half-price deal.

It surely must be time for another update to the FREE bass transcriptions resource at http://tomreadbass.co.uk ?
Well YES! I have today completed a huge jobsheet of full band arrangements, and orders for bespoke bass transcriptions. Every single one of my clients opted for the 50% discount deal - which means their completed transcriptions get shared with everyone, for free, via my website!
Additionally, I've been busy transcribing charts for myself, preparing for last minute dep gigs. So despite it being the quietest time of the year for gigging, there are no fewer than 21 new charts being added today, bringing the total to a whopping 1159!
There's no registration, log-in or payment required, nor any limit to the number of charts you can download. Just help yourself to whatever you want.

The 1000th was "True Love", ordered by Canadian bassist Scott VanDriel and was provided free-of-charge by way of celebration! It was another mammoth update with no less than 52 charts added to the site.
There's a huge variety in there too - the new ones include pop from the 60s to the present day, Doris Day tunes, Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran, Jocelyn Brown, Mumford & Sons, Frankie Valli, Sammy Davis Jr, and even Sutton Coldfield Baptist Church!

All sorts of things added - 90s dance music, 70s rock, 60s rock & roll, 80s pop, classic soul - something for everyone! As usual, some of these have resulted from my own personal preparation for my gigs, while others have been customers' orders from the website for bespoke transcriptions where they have agreed to have the finished chart published for everyone's benefit.

It isn't a pick list - it's just a look-up table to see whether a track is available.
To access the charts, scroll to the bottom of the webpage and choose the first letter of the title. It is all explained in the smallprint!

It has become a Christmas tradition here at http://tomreadbass.co.uk to transcribe a bassline from a classic Christmas tune and add it to the free library on the website.
This year, it is Greg Lake's 1975 anthem "I Believe In Father Christmas", an easy and simple bassline, but with the important nuances (like when it uses the 6th or the major 7th beneath the root) all charted out accurately.
One other new addition - taking us to 932 FREE bass transcriptions (in standard notation) - is the funky bassline for "Walk The Dinosaur", a 1988 pop hit for the band Was Not Was.

As usual, these charts have resulted from my personal preparation for gigs, writing band arrangements, and orders for bespoke transcriptions that have opted for the 50% discount rate for sharing!
And, as usual, the website remains 100% open and free, thanks to everyone that has clicked the "Buy Me A Beer" button. This helps to go towards the domain and web hosting expenses - and I do enjoy a beer after a scorewriting session too!
I'd like to think most bass players and bass communities are aware of this website, but do keep sharing please, it is appreciated.
