** No trades - sorry **

2. Thanks Such - it really is a beaut ! It was at the same show that I promised myself a Stenback. Even when the hall he was exhibiting in was simply too loud to hear things properly, there was something about the bass that felt just right.
Tom S has been great throughout the build.
Don't know if you clocked the image but this one is an active prototype, with a 3-band EQ. Range of tone is off the scale.
Just working my way up to taking it out on its first gig 😓

3. +1 to that :-)
It's become one of my favourites to listen/watch, and I've never considered myself a big PM fan.
I think it's exactly what you said... Great mates, playing great music to a BIG crowd.
Nothing too fancy or overproduced..
Tidy.

4. Hi guys/gals
This may seem a dumbass question to some, so apologies in advance.

I'm currently using two Aguilar 12" + tweeter cabinets, powered by my TC Electronic RH750 amp head.
Very portable, plenty loud enough for me and the combination seems to compliment my basses well.

Here's the thing.
It's not a tall "stack" by any means, and even when I have it perched upon my isolation pad it's not providing much of a monitor for me because its quite low.
Would simply adding a third cab to the stack solve my problem, or just create other issues with power output or impedance?
The TC amp only has one speaker output therefore I'm daisy-chaining already, so common sense tells me "no problem".....

Would I have to alter the impedance of the two existing cabinets to accommodate No3 ?

Comments welcomed.

5. I was lucky enough to be gifted a Moody's strap from the US.

The leather must be from the thickest part of a cows ass, and I'm sure this thing will be around long after I'm worm food.
I've got a single-star Mike Dirnt model.
Very comfy (if not a little pricey).
The dogs danglies.

6. First time for me this year.
Set out from the frozen north on Saturday at some ungodly hour, full of anticipation, wallet at the ready...
TBH I thought the whole thing would be bigger, and having given all the stands a quick once-over, I thought it was going to be a short day.
Wrong-wrong-wrong.
The workshops were GREAT and the live performances were each worthy of the ticket price alone.
I managed to talk to Yolanda (x), and had a quick word with Mr Turner too.... where else could you do that on the same day?
I thought Tony Butler had some wise words and TM Stevens was infectious ..

Like many of you though, the strangest thing for me witnessing the relentless slap-fest that rolled on for the full day.
As a first timer, it was more amusing than annoying, and I was happy to be 'entertained' by the "fast is best/look at me" mentality demonstrated by quite a few..

Don't get me wrong, I'm an admirer of the technique (when used sparingly and tastefully), but I have to agree with pretty much all the Pro's who got to speak on the day... It's all about the groove/the pocket/less is more etc etc.

Would I go next year ? You betcha.
The Mrs loved it too.

Highlights ?
Shuffler.

7. Caught these earlier this month supporting Snow Patrol.
Although you could tell that they had some well crafted songs, it sounded like the YTS sound engineer was allowed to experiment on the night and the sound/mix out front was poor...
Shame.

Not sure if its in the book but don't suppose you have "Machine Stops"?

Edit - seems to be in volume 2.

Heaven in My Hands appears to be on http://www.forevernow.com/tablature.shtml

9. Blimey,

Already thinking of trading the 2 Agi's 1 x 12's for an Epi 2 x 10 + 1 x 15..

Also thinking of getting/trying a 5-er (again) and I'm always looking out for the perfect Wal-4.

I'm loving all the time off for Christmas but it gives me too much time to think about this :-)

I love MAW stuff,.. but in truth I never realised how many of the tracks he may have done. Listening back to some of my faves again, same tone, same groove. Awesome stuff.

Good shout Bubinga5 !

Simple line in "To be in Love/MAW/India" ... very cool.

11. "Pino's playing on this track just blows me away.. im in awe of that man...his note choices make the rest of the music sound so good....what GoWest must have thought, when he laid down this bassline??"

Hey Bubbinga5

I'm lovin' the Pino thing...BUT

...have you seen this early version of Graham Edwards on bass for Go West on THE TUBE back in the day.
Awesome tone and technique !
