1. I've switched to an Orange terror bass so this is now up for sale.
Excellent condition, perfect working order with no issues, boxed and includes a dell laptop case which fits the head perfectly.

You all know what these are ;D

£350 collected from brighton or + shipping
I can be flexible meeting up half way if required.

Trades for a nice jazz considered

Cheers!

2. I'm selling my Ampeg V4BH all valve bass amp.

I bought it from doctorbass on the forum a couple of weeks ago, it sounds absolutely stunning but I need more volume for the kind of gigs I'm doing, our drummer is particularly loud and it's not quite got the power I need, the Orange Terror bass I've picked up doesn't sound as good but it's far enough in the right direction for me at the moment.

This thing is basically an SVT classic with a smaller power section, so you can crank it for some excellent tube overdrive without being at bowel loosening volume levels - plus it weighs half as much.

This particular amp is in Ampeg's 'AV' livery but is otherwise identical to the more common blackface models, it's in great condition and perfect working order.

Due to it's weight I'm going to offer it for collection only, although I could possibly meet the buyer somewhere closer.
I'm based in Brighton but make regular trips to Rayne/Braintree in Essex.

From the serial number, it looks like it was made in 2005

I'm after £450, which is pretty much what I paid for it.

I'm interested in trades for a 4 string jazz bass, or possibly a precision - let me know what you've got.

Cheers!

3. I'm dipping my filthy tyre kicking feet into the water on this one and am looking into the possibility of moving on my trusty Lakland Darryl Jones 5.
I've owned and gigged it pretty much exclusively over the last 3 and a bit years, but I bought a Fender P5 which just works perfectly for the stuff I'm playing now.

I'm using those low low notes less and less nowadays, so am interested to see whether or not I can get by with a 4 stringer on a more permanent basis, something along the lines of the following plus cash where appropriate;

60's/70's reissue/roadworn Fender Jazz or Precision - the mex 50's reissue precision is excellent also.
Lakland Joe Osborne 4

Let me know what you've got - I'm pretty open minded this time round.

Otherwise I could possibly be coerced into selling at £850 collected/met half way etc- I'm based in Brighton but drive up to the work office near Braintree, Essex on a roughly weekly basis.

Bass is in great condition and perfect working order with a beautifully low action - plus it includes a hiscox hard case.

4. Cheers Mert ;D

Barry: I don't believe the weight of these cabs has changed since the newer orange speakers came into the picture.

The update from the all black model to the orange speaker model was purely an aesthetic one, although Markbass have further updated this cab by removing one row of ports, the advertised dimensions on their website match my cab so I would have thought the weight would also be the same.

Unfortunately, I don't have anything to weigh it, but it's certainly very lightweight and an easy one hand lift.

5. ### SALE PENDING ###

I fancy a change, having picked up a great epifani ul410 I'm now looking to shift my old head and cab and purchase something vaguely valvey.

Prices are below, but ideally am after a trade for something along the lines of the following;

*Orange AD200B
*Orange Bass Terror
*Ampeg V4BH
*Mesa D180

Markbass Little Mark II
Great condition, perfect working order, boxed (I think I still have it) -
I'll chuck in an old Dell laptop case which fits the head perfectly if you want it.

£350 + shipping - or collected from Brighton

Markbass 2x10 cabinet, front ported, neo speakered, 400watt @ 8ohm
Loads of bottom end, great with a low B string and as a standalone cab.

£325 collected from Brighton

I could possibly meet people half way if needed - give me a shout

6.
This is why I ended up with a Ray 5 and not a Lakland JO/DJ5. Quality.
Build quality of my DJ5 is just as good as either of the SR5's I've had - plus it's a hell of a lot lighter.
Imo, Lakland stuff is extremely well built, although I've not tried any of the newer Indonesian built instruments.

7. I didn't really get on with the SR5 HH I had in the long term and much preferred the older (early 90's?) single H model I had a couple of years earlier - really miss that bass.

Am I right in saying the SR5HH with the bridge pickup soloed is wired in series, I remember really enjoying the single H SR5 with the pickup set to parallel - having this tone missing from the double pickup model was probably all that made the difference for me, possibly over the magnet material.

The DJ5 I've had for the last 3 years or so has been fantastic but I certainly would like an SR5 again someday.

8. I'm looking to shift my RAT II pedal after picking up a Way Huge Pork Loin.
The RAT works great with bass, I've been using it for about a year at a low gain setting which sounds great.

Perfect working order, few knocks here and there - but it's solid metal.

[s]£45[/s] £40 shipped in the UK

Trades for a delay pedal with tap function considered

9. I picked up a Fender usa precision standard 5 string in November last year, it's a cracking bass.
The low B is stunning and the bass is dead light, it took more time than usual to set up, but after the old business-card-in-the-neck-pocket shim trick, it's spot on.

The P bass sound is great, I'm appreciating it more and more but there are still times when I could really do with a 2 pickup sound.

My question is, have any of you added a J or other pickup to your USA fender precision, 5 string or otherwise, and what model did you go for?

Any experiences, words of wisdom?

Cheers in advance!

Russ
