To get deep into Rumbleland, a combination of a Fender '73 Tele Bass (Squier do a reissue around £270- bargain) wi the the big fat humbucker PU right on the neck, tone = 0. Strung with Rotosound Tru Bass Black Nylon Flatwounds. Graphic EQ - Boost 50hz, Cut 150-300hz (to cut out the mud), Cut everything above 800hz. 2x10 + 1x15/18 speaker cabs and chuck away any horns. To even look at a plectrum is a sackable offence !!! (fingers and thumbs only) Only then, would Lee "Scratch" Perry consider you entry to the Studio. One Love. Dubby

The Easy Star All Stars got it right wi Floyd (but not their Radiohead stuff). Beatles stuff is a must, "Obla-de" is almost Reggae, as so is "Hotel California" by The Eagles. "Knocking on Heavans Door" and "Hey Joe" lend themselves well to Reggae dropping into Heavy Dub sections half way thro. Country and Western ??? And musos should be aware that Scottish Country Dance music is 99% Ska !!! Roots Mon! [b]But ! Reggaefying pop will be heavily dependant on your Kick-Partner's (Drummer) understanding and feel for the Genre.[/b] If not, then you'll end up sounding like "Men At Work" (Gosh! I've just made myself throw up) Oh ! Another track that gets my Hips going is "Stop that Train" by Clint Eastwood & General Saint.

Measured 40mm nut width, and as I love the slim 38mm jazz neck, that was paramount in the project. If there is one thing I've learnt over the years, is the neck is integral to the feel of a Bass. Carving it to a Tele headstock made it pleasing to the eye. See the earlier comment from NancyJohnson.
