  1. Wonderful bass, made in the NYC Custom Shop.

    Birdseye Maple Top
Mahogany Body with maple tone block
3-piece flamed maple neck, wenge stripe
    Ebony fretboard, 24 frets
Pope Preamp (Bass, Treble, Hi/Lo Mid, Passive Tone Blend, Pan, active/passive switch)

A gorgeous choice of woods for shure. Overall good conition. Very nice setup, strung with Elixir 0.45-1.05 Stainless Steel.

Made in 1987, brought up to todays specs with Aero pickups and Pope Flexcore Preamp (original Bartolini PUs are included, no routing was needed to install the Aeros).

The Aero pickups are a huge improvement over the Bartolinis. Very responsive, smooth sound. Clear, natural and bright treble register. The Pope Preamp is also much better than the Bartolini Preamp. Not only does it have a clearer and punchier tone, it also has a passive tone control and two mid controls (hi/lo), so it is much more versatile.

Comes with a custom made heavy duty flightcase (300€ new).

The bass has a very sweet and full tone- exceptional in every way.

Asking price is 6000€; (I am based in Germany). Shipping to any european country is possible.

Reason for sale: I find myself moving to 33" scale lately.
