  1. On my Squier Bronco shorty I set it up with neck relief at about 15 thou, nut action same as anything else (I fret at the 3rd andfile until there is about 10thou between the the bottom of each string and the first fret), then adjust action to your preference, dressed / polished the frets first......

  2. Pickup arrived from Spain, at last, I've had stuff from the States quicker! Anyroadup, anyone who gives a rats will notice I sprayed the head satin black as it seems to suit the vibe………not everyones cup-o-tea, but I achieved the look I wanted…..

All done sounds and plays great!………

  3. I'm bit confused by your description of the current finish, but if it is flaky, then I suggest you strip the lot off and start again.....I suppose grain filler depends on what finish you are trying to achieve, I havent done many refinishes, but I have never grain filled cos I like the paint to sink into the grain a bit so I can see the lines in the paint.....I have used automotive cellulose rattle cans with great success... not had the bottle to attempt a sunburst yet though! There is a bit of an art to spraying with rattlecans and if you have not used them before it may be better to do one solid colour for your first bash at it. There are sunburst videos on the tube...an example....

  4. There is a 4 saddle bridge amde by Fender thats a straight swap, that also gives the choice of through strung or top strung.....however I have a Bronco Bass that is 2 saddle and that intonates near enough, sometimes I think folk get a bit too fussy about intonation being spot on to the nearest micro cent, in the days when things were only i black and white they did it by ear and it sounded OK.....anyroadup, time will tell amd ther s a solution if I need one

So today I screened the cavities and wired up as much as I could, tested with an old Strat pup, bored now! Waiting for strings and the pup..... bored.....

I'll have to build something else! Anyone got a lightweight P Bass body going cheap! I've got a neck!.....
