feedback for Deedee

Just bought Dan's re-cased TE head. An absolute pleasure to deal with and shipping was extremely speedy. He even knocked a fiver as he forgot to pop the kettle lead in with the packaging! Even though you probably already know after reading through the rest of this thread but you need not have any doubt at all when dealing with Dan.
  2.
I completely get that a sound engineer will compress signals for studio recordings and this will be an automatic part of his recording process. But playing live?
Speaking as both a live and studio engineer, if I was limited to compressing one instrument and one instrument only - it would be the bass. Unless you're playing as part of a classical ensemble or jazz quartet where dynamic range is of the upmost importance then compression will be used across the board anyway. Speaking as a bass player, it just tightens up all the little nuances and makes everything a lot more even and I don't think I'd ever be in a situation where I wouldn't be compressing my bass, live or in the studio. Either way - whether you've compressed your bass or not on stage I can guarantee that 99% of the time the live engineer is squeezing the life out of the bass through the PA, it really depend on your personal taste and whether you like the sound of your own bass compressed on stage. Out at FOH it's not necessarily a question of whether the audience would know whether the bass is compressed or not, almost everyone standing there wouldn't be able to tell the difference let alone really care about it. But they will notice a big farty uncompressed bass signal coming through the PA, whacking them across the chops and otherwise not playing nicely with their ear drums.

    SOLD!

Edit: Both basses sold! Both of these wonderful basses up for sale as are surplus to requirement, would much rather they go to a better home. I'm asking £250 for the Streamer and £500 for the Spector. No trades sorry! I've owned both from brand new, had the Streamer for a little under a year and has only gigged/used a handful of times. Has next to no wear and tear bar the odd few scratches on the back of the body which aren't at all noticeable from more than a few inches away. Really comfortable to play and sounds huge, practically identical to the German wicks bar the woods; all else is the same. The Spector I've had for up to five years now so has the wear and tear to go with it. Though nothing affects the playability of the instrument and is in perfect working order. You know how these things sound, like an absolute earthquake. Fresh set of rounds on it and you've the Rex Brown tone nailed. These retail for around £1400 new, only reason I'm selling so cheap is because I don't use it anymore and has been sitting around collecting dust for months. Might be willing to post but would much rather meet up somewhere, I'm in Cardiff. Either way buyer pays for shipping/travel expenses. I can take more detailed photos if needs be, anything specific you want to see or know get in touch!
