1. Bought this in 1994 for a band that never happened.. Maya 70's mij precision copy (natural, tort guard bought for £40 a bass player mate bought it for £100 and still has it. Didn't know what I had) Bought this in 2002 thought I'd try the bass again years after the first attempt... Ibanez gsr200 (mega thin neck gave me cramp put me off bass) Bought a few weeks ago, and has since spurred me on to buy my second bass a HB precision copy (currently in transit)... Harley Benton JB-75 (love it, has given me the bass bug)
 2.
That will be with the packaging (I hope!). I'd guess the P will be about the same weight as the J. 5kg is maybe a touch above average? It's not unusual.
In that case the J bass was 5kg including the packing... As said above double boxed + bubble wrap. Just need to man up as I'm a bass player now not some lightweight guitarist.
 3.
Two excellent choices there dezb1. The fact that I happen to have those basses has no effect on saying you have excellent taste
Just got tracking info for my new PB-20 6.22kg that's nearly a stone in old money... Is that an average weight for a bass? the JB-75 was 5kg, for some reason I thought the P bass would be lighter.
 4.
Welcome to the forum. So, when is the third bass purchase going to be?
When the wife isn't looking...
 5.
Colin Grigson? Hahaha, my bass playing hero!
Man was a genius his playing on Warriors of Genghis Khan is above reproach...
 6. Greetings New to the forum and to playing bass (been a guitarist for many many years), so this is my first post. Wish I'd taken up the bass years ago as I'm loving it. My newish HB Jazz bass: Been going badada badada like a fury And with bass being my new obsession I've used 4 €10 vouchers Thomann gave me for reviewing stuff and now have a PB-20 on the way for the princely sum of €58 delivered to my door... Steal.
 7. First post n aw that... been a guitarist for many many years, and decided it was time I checked out what all you bass players seen in an instrument with hardly any strings (been guilty of all the guitarist looking down on the bass player jokes). And now realise what a Muppet I've been can't get over how much I love playing my new J bass, haven't really picked the guitar up since I got it (not that I'm giving the auld 6 strings up), but man this few weeks have been a learning curve. Already have a P bass on order... Think I may have found a new obsession. End of rambling intro...
