  1. The g30 let me down badly after a few gigs as door for battery compartment got lose leaving the wireless system switching on and off, I sent it back and never again would I use it, I know the costlier line 6 systems have far better battery compartments which give no bother but the g30 has this common problem

After looking at a thread on here I got one of these. http://www.andertons.co.uk/guitar-amp-instrument-wireless/pid16092/cid761/line-6-relay-g30-digital-wireless-guitar-system.asp the Line 6 G30. In the end the only question ws whether to get the G50.

As everyone says the battery cover is a bit naff and the clip could be more secure, a velcro cable tie would be better but it's been a hundred percent reiable, never had a dropout and is better made than I expected at the price. I use some 2200mAh rechargeables and carry a spare set plus a backup set of Alkaline batteries, The rechargeables last the whole set and then go on and do another 5 hours at home but I make sure they are topped up for every gig (I must put them on for tomorrow in a minute)

The sound is cleaner than using even a short high quality lead and the freedom is great, I've even wandered out of the pub and onto the beach at a gig in Teignmouth, a bit eccentric but you've got to try it once :)

  3. PRICE DROP PRICE DROP £700------This great bass has served me well over the years and apart from a couple of Dings its in very good nick. It has the original bridge with the padded mufflers.
Has been recently set up by my luthier and new strings fitted.
    Correction-------The bass weighs 7.5Lbs
Lovely instrument to play with nice action. The tone is beautiful and the colour is beautiful.

For Your INFO. One picture shows a chip which has been glued back in on head of bass. This happen about 20 years ago when a lead singer hit his SM58 of it on stage,

One other picture shows a very small chip on paint work on the body

Bass is in very good condition considering its age.

Bass is in Northern Ireland and can courier to any potential buyer.

  4. I bought a TC Electronic 750 amp and a 112 cabinet and I am getting a distorted sound from E and B strings even at low volume,
I have checked frequencies and gain set to right level and have used different cables,
I have also changed the battery on my active bass.
I have also tried 2 other 4ohm cabinets with the amp a ebs 410 and a EBS 210 and the same problem occurs and on these cabs the vibration/noise is coming from output panel on back of cabinet and there seems to be air coming out of Jack outputs.

Any ideas lads and ladies as the amp has a killer tone but this is doing my head in.
I've also tried my 4 string with it and the same problems occur

  5. The Elixir last a hell of a long time lads with this new Nano coating, I use Elixir on my Two 5 string basses and problem isn't bad at all but saying that the Xotic has a lot more brighter EQ and more powerful. I end up having to take to much Top of my EQ which helps but not ideal

  6. Hi all
My 4 string which is an Xotic -xjp-1t-4-string-bass-yellow-blonde-chuck-rainey-custom-bass and I've had it around 6 months and have been using Elixir long life round wound strings which I think for this bass is too toppy and I get a lot of frett noise and clicking of the fretts which is very annoying to the extent I find myself trying to change my playing technique to account for this, just too sharp and I've adjusted action and changed EQ numerous times.

Any suggestions string wise that are not as bright and keep in mind I'm not really into flat wound strings at all.

    Much appreciated.
