1.
Check this out too: http://www.rmcpickup.../fanoutbox.html
This is very cool, RMC also have pickups for Contrabass and Cello as well.
With the hexpander option you can have both.
Interesting.. is the hexpander a breakout box? I'd like to have peizo saddle transducers for an acoustic tone (secondary output) and divided electromagnetic coil pickup for primary output, with a 13-pin DIN VG-88 interface. I like this option > AE X6 Surface Mounted Divided Bass Pickup since it doesn't require any mods to the instrument, comes with a 9 year warranty and I can send it back within 30 days for a refund if I don't like it. I can add saddle transducers (RMC or Graphtec) later as well.
 2.
Graphtec Ghost system.
Thanks for the tip! Cool piezo saddle transducer system, I like this as an acoustic tone option. still want electromagnetic coils for a primary output signal. It's a totally different sound.
 3. The GK-3B is perfect for Roland VSystems, but useless as a hexaphonic audio signal pickup. I want a breakout box to isolate all 6 strings into 6 amp channels without crosstalk, GK pickup coils share a common earth so crosstalk is unavoidable, and even if there were a breakout box for the GK, the impedance and inductance is way to low on those tiny coils. The pickups mentioned above however can do both jobs.
 4. I've been poking around the net for anything on bass divided pickups.. so far I've only got 2 hits : Ubertar Hexaphonic Pickups and AE Divided Bass String Sensors the first seems to be standard size and form hex pickups designed to replace stock pickups.. and the second are surface mounted, or I guess also installed?, but definiately not standard size or form. Both are VG-88 compatible with breakout boxes, so I think I found what I was looking for!
 5. I've been wondering why hex pickups are only available for guitar (?) Roland GK bass pickups are only made for 4 string bass. I would like to play bass through a Roland VG-88 and also be able to isolate each string into seperate amp channels, but I haven't found any hex pickups for 6 string bass anywhere. We still seem to live in a guitarcentric universe.. bleh*
