1. I dunno about that, just seems a little weird. You can't really hear sound properly through skype and i don't even own a camera lol. I have found a couple of guys in the area that are cheaper so i'll give them a buzz later on in the day and see what they have to say. One of them actually teaches in the town i live in, so that would make life easier
2. TBH price isn't THAT much of an issue since i'm using a borrowed Tanglewood one at the moment. So i'm more than happy to wait a few months and spend £300-500 on one. I was looking at the 120 version of the Rolland, which is £469 http://www.pmtonline...-amplifier.html Buying second hand, i'd rather not. for no other reason that since this is my first time doing it all i wanted to get new just so it has that 'new' smell And the fact if i buy new from a store and something goes wrong i can take it back and they'll fix it for me. Or atleast thats what the sales guy was saying, the guitar has a 3 year warrantly on it where i can take it in for a yearly check up, and amps they do the same thing for. You don't get that with 2nd hand, and since i don't know anything about what i'm doing i think it's a bad idea, since if it did go wrong i'd only end having to pay someone to fix it which is probably going to cost me more than buying new would do from the start I did just order one of those Vox headphone amps from Amazon though, saves me annoying my neighbours with my terrible playing in the middle of the night
3. Yeah WAAAAY to far sadly. Bristol is good 2hours away from me i only get there once in a blue moon and it's usually for a day visit when my mates are going to check out guitars. Sadly i don't drive due to epilepsy so for me it has to be REAL local, as in the Taunton/Wellington area. Since i have to rely on public transport
4. This is the one the sales rep was pointing me to, kept going on about the features which meant nothing to me as total beginner http://www.pmtonline.co.uk/roland-cube-20xl-bass-guitar-amplifier.html
5. Yeah i plan on getting some lessons. Sadly the teachers i've found around where i live (Wellington in Somerset) are VERY expensive. I'm hoping to catch up with a teacher that was recommend to me next week some point and see how much he's gonna charge me. £35ph for a guitar lesson seems a bit over priced to me >.<
6. I'm a complete beginner with my bass, and i do mean complete. I bought the bass and case from a shop in Bristol and have been loaned a amp by a mate. However i want to get my own, the guy in the store recomended a Roland Bass Amp, was £200 and he said it would do me good for practising on now, but down the road would be good for jamming later on. Which is what i was after, didn't want to buy an amp now and then another later on. But yeah, before i went and just buy the first thing a sales rep on commission tells me to buy, figured i'd ask around and get opinion and advice Sadly my mate that loaned me my current amp can't really help since he dosen't play bass any more and hasn't for years. so yeah, advice away please
7. Heyas folks, i'm David and well as the title says i'm a total beginner, never played any instrument until now. I've been wanting to learn bass for a while, and this week while out shopping with a mate who was after a new guitar i found mine. Ended up with a left handed Hofner Ignition Violin Bass: http://www.hofner-guitars.com/electric-basses/violin-bass/ignition-violin-bass.html Fell in love with it as soon as i saw it Now just to learn to play it lol I'll probably be asking a lot of dumb questions for a while so be easy on me
