Very impressed with the Gruv Gear Edge guitar case. It’s a perfect fit for the Mustang once you move the bottom cushions (which are thankfully velcroed), around a little. This allows the bass to sit a little lower in the bag, and also stops any side-to-side movement (as little as it was).

Excellent quality bag, good price. So far, the best (only) gigging option for Mustang players at the moment IMO.

    Si

That looks brilliant! Where did you buy yours? I live in the UK as well and have been looking for something decent for ages.

  2. The new handle arrived today.
I noticed a slight difference between the plastic ends.
The ones I received today have Penn Fabricated stamped on them (mine didn't) and slightly thicker four 'struts' that surround the screw hole.
Let's hope these do the job better, still going to be nervous about carrying it though!

  3. Got an email today from Riccardo in customer services.
He has offered to either send me another handle or said it can be replaced by their Service Assistance in UK.
Obviously gone for the send it and I'll fit it myself option so hopefully won't take too long to arrive.
He says they only had this problem reported before after years of hard usage?
Maybe I just had a dodgy batch of weak plastic? Hope new handle fairs much better.
I also sent a pic for their perusal of the offending part.

    +1 to the above.

Customer service has always been very good with Markbass. I imagine it's only due to it being the weekend that you haven't had a reply yet, and I'd be surprised if you didn't receive a response tomorrow!

Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought.

Wow... Fenderlicious, THANK YOU for posting this!!!

Mine is the same design and... it looks like it would have not lasted much longer. Thanks for making me check and avert a possible disaster.

Pictures coming in a few minutes...

Just as well you checked mcnach, I'm guessing they'll be a lot of people doing it once word gets round?
I contacted Markbass customer support earlier so wait to hear what they have to say about it.

    oh no! that's pretty bad!

did it actually break, or did the screw just came off?
On mine, Italian, I noticed soon after I got it, that the handle screws were feeling a little loose. I tightened them and I noticed every once in a while they feel a bit loose, so I just check them regularly. Just in case.

Yes the plastic that surrounds the screw has broken so no way to re-atach it. I bought the amp locally so going to contact the shop tomorrow to see what they say.

  7. Well I read through the entire thread before taking the plunge and buying an Indonesian Mini CMD121P last week 09/06/14.
Sounds great, nice and light just as expected.
Then tonight I go to pick it up and the plastic end on the handle snaps where it attaches to the screw. Great, I haven't even gigged it yet.
To make matters worse I also have a NY 121P on its way to me. Will this suffer the same fate? Edit: Just realised that the cab doesn't have a strap handle thank goodness!
Beginning to wonder if I've made the right choice here, thank goodness I wasn't carrying it outside at the time but at home on carpet.
