Yes, if you weren’t keen on the transparency/flat response of the BF Compact then providing you’re not looking for crisp modern highs the BF210 would fit the bill nicely.

I found the compact, (this is the first gen) a bit too old school sounding. Not sure how the 210s compare but what I've read is that they are based on more old school sounding cabs which isn't really what I'm after. I do like a bit of clarity as I'm using a few high gain overdrives and some envolope filters here and there.

Wld love to hear from someone who has used a HDN 210 or eich/tecamp 115xs for small gigs.

Why not invest in a decent trolley for the 212 so it's an easier carry and save some money?

Nx2 has wheels, which certinaly make things easier for most situations i use it. A trolley is something else to fit in limited boot space (nx2 fills the whole boot) + I'm after a small cab to save on space / weight ;)

3. Hi. I'm looking for a decent lightweight 210 or 115.

Currently using genzler 800 into a nx212 which absolutely smashes it, gig after gig with loads to spare.

I'm after a smaller cab for smaller club gigs/ festivals / rehearsals where I don't need the clout but it still needs enough to fill the small stage/rehearsal space so still want something high quality and relitively sensitive/loud. :)

Sometimes lugging the larger cab through fields/long walks where I don't actually need something that size is getting a bit tiresome, not to mention the boot space it takes and having to bring an extra car because of my cab.

I'll keep my nx212 for bigger gigs and a smaller  cab for smaller things and probably won't ever run them together so ideally I'm looking for a 4ohm cab but not essential.

I'm not looking for a single 12 as IME I've never found one to be enough in any situation (I've owned a f112, and a gb focus 12 plus various others)

I'm playing latin/funk/dub/ska/hip hop /soul etc etc.

What I'm after from you guys really is first hand experience (although subjective of course) of which either lightweight 210 or 115 you use, what you are using it for and how it subjectively fares in your situation. Interested in the venderklay lnt 210 although a little on the heavy side. Berg hdn210. Eich 115xs? Anything else I should add? I used to own a barefaced compact 15, volume was fine, sold it as I didn't like the way it sounded but the trade off was reasonable.

Open chat about this anyone? Preferences and why?

4. Genzler is a real keeper and I would totally recommend it. Its dead intuative to use, built really well and sounds mint across the genres. tough to get bored of it as it can do so much without being complex.. ive worked mine real hard and is showing no signs of wear.

5. Gen 1 compact 15" good but gigged condition with fitted cover. Don't think there's anything on the market this light that can go this loud and sound so good. Spec here http://barefacedbass.com/product-range/compact.htm
Collection from Ivybridge or happy to meet at a reasonable distance.
Photos to follow.

6. I've just recently acquired an old gen 1 compact, whilst it's not quite the hifi sound I have been used to it was very usable. I was mega impressed with its weight and volume.
It held its own at rehearsal with a pretty loud 7 piece funk band.
I acquired the cab purely as a solution to having a dodgy knee and going up and down stairs all the time and it's weight to spl output had me so impressed it's got me looking into barefaced cabs..
I found the old compact a bit old school sounding to me if I'm honest so very interested in the bb2 if it can output the same spl as the gen 1 compact but is a bit more hifi sounding.

So I got the BB2. Ive just had one gig with it so far but it seems like a great cab. You do pretty much get out of it what you put in (although Im not sure its entirely flat sounding) so I can see why some guys might not like it. Its much more like a really good PA speaker (think D&B) than a traditional bass cab. This is good if your bass is being DI'd to PA so you get a more accurate result of what you sound like out front.
I think I prefer it with the horn off though- theres no shortage of top end and I was using a passive j bass with fairly tired strings! It would take your head off if you were using an active bass with the treble boosted..
I definitely don't get the 'too much bass thing either'! Its makes you realise that a lot of cabs are just putting out mids and not actual bottom end- its great to hear the actual low end especially when the fundamental of an open e is 41hz!
Will see how I get on over the next few months and how it copes with any dodgy sounding rooms..

What band size situation and style of music are you using this cab for?
I wonder how many people get away with using the bb2 in larger band settings.
I used a fearless f112 in a larger 7 piece funk band and despite it sounding nice it didn't get loud enough.

8. Greenboy fearless F210. Now Sold.
4ohms,
25kg,
2x10 kappalites 3010lf
1 fatial mid 5"
Tweet with variable crossover.
Wheels on the back and top handle.
Easy one hand lift.
Comes with Roqsolid cover.
This has been a well looked after cab and probably one of the loudest 2x10 cabs out there.
Sounds brilliant crystal clear hi-fi cab that goes really tight and low.
Superb for all basses especially uprights.
Can't rate this cab enough, it sounds flat out brilliant, the consistency across venues and dispersion is superb.
I used this for small /medium gigs / rehearsal, with various amps all in the 800w region and various basses, uprights, Eub, 5 string, fretless and each bass sounded as it should, no eq just pure fat joyfully bass.
Collection from Liverpool or can arrange some delivery arrangement at buyers expense.

9. For sale is my Rob allen fretless 5 string bass..
Strung with labella 760ns.
Walnut top,
Semi hollow swamp ash body,
Tortouise binding.
Birds eye maple neck,
Dots on the side,
Piezo under bridge pick up,
Volume built onto bridge.
The warmest punchyest fattest sounding fretless i've ever played.
The Labella 760ns make the intonation quite forgiving and the strings flexible and warm sounding.
I bought this as it was the closest sounding like an upright bass, the range of tones you can get with your right hand position is incredible.
Bought for nearly £3000 a few months ago, painfull to sell as its such a nice piece of kit but I need to fund other projects so selling.
Absolute perfect A1+++ condition.
Comes with skb case if you want it.
Collection prefered but willing to travel a resonable distance or we can discuss courier arrangements.http://s1126.photobucket.com/user/rededshred/library/
