I have serious interest in this now, will take some pictures on my phone tonight and post up a few extra pics tomorrow.

  2. For Sale.

Road weary, marked...I won't lie this bass has seen it's fair share of action.

But it's a musically instrument right? Well as far as that goes this instrument plays well and it sounds amazing.

Low action, thin neck, plenty of sustain...

It has that famous Jazz sound without breaking the bank, yes it's Mexican but as some of you guys may know every now and again you get a beauty and this would be it.

I has a Badass II bridge fitted, done about a year ago professionally a standard upgrade for many MIM jazzers.

Reason for sale is mainly down to upgrading to a US jazz if there aren't any offers I will definately keep this is a back up. But for now it's available to you guys. It was my first Fender but sadley isn't going to see too much action behind my 75RI.

Paint on the body is good apart from a knock on the front edge underneath the tone/volume knobs. It also has a few remnants of stickers on the back which will easily be removed.

The neck plays great is probably the thinnest I have ever played. It has 4/5 knocks along it and a little one on the top of the headstock.

I live in Nottingham and I am more than pleased for anyone to try before they buy. Near new Rotosound 45's fitted at the end of December.

It comes with a ratty old hardcase that does the job, courrier organised by buyer if required.

Offers PM'd to my account. Looking for £200.

  3. I have recently acquired a new 75 Reissue jazz.

It came with the pickup covers and I'm thinking of just adding the rear one so my questions is two fold.

What difference will it make to the sound?

What would you advise is the best way to fit them/get them fitted?

    Thanks

  4. For sale because I have no bloody money at the moment!

It sounds good, it looks good, it IS good!

Only problem is one of the feet has been broken off a little bit, it HAS been gigged but has always been looked after.

It's just been sitting under my stairs for long enough.

£130 and it's yours. Collections from Hucknall north Nottingham. Between j26/27 of the m1 will meet a few junctions down for petrol costs.

  5. Short stay, I was recording in Croydon this weekend and stumbled across a TS808. (at the time didn't ask whether original or RI but I assume RI)

It was like the room lit up when I turned it on.

Now I'm aware that TS808s are quite expensive but you seem to be able to pick up TS9's relatively cheap.

I've read all the info that analogman has up. But I want to know in real terms has any tried out the two? And if I stump for a TS9 will I be disapointed.

    Thanks in advance

  6. I played the US 3 bolt american RI jazz bass in the new rattle n drum guitar shop in Derby and honestly fell in love with how it plays and the tone, and the next bass I buy HAS GOT to have the rosewood board with the inlays/binding.

I am acutely aware that this is available for around £1200, I am not that keen on the natural finish with the white board on these guitar but it played so well.

Now the cheaper (I assume MIM or CIJ version) : HERE looks a lot nicer with the sunburst IMO.

I was just wondering how much the difference would be as there isn't one available to play, and for £450 that's a lot cheaper bass.

Obviously the build quality and hardware on the US made bass straightaway suggests a no brainer, however I have a MIM jazz and it sounds/plays as well as US basses I have played (All be it mine's been beaten up a little)

Any help would be much appreciated...sorry for the essay

  7. Don't have a pic right this minute as I'm at work but I bought 2nd hand off ebay, still has original box (with seletape scars) and manual.

I've never gigged this bad boy as I tune right down to C# and it struggles to pick it up but handles standard E A D G no problems.

In perfect condition never gigged by myself and not by the previous owner apparently either.

Probably look at about £30 if anyones interested.

    Thanks

    (Pics up soon)

  8. I have an MIM Fender Jazz and I'm thinking of buying a new neck, most likely a 70s RI with block inlays:

    Like this

What are the issues with fitting a new neck, would it be best to take them to a music shop like folds or something where they would set it up for me or is it simple enough to do myself? I also take it the tuners on my current neck would just go straight on the new neck?

The most I have ever done to my bass myself is change the strings so any help will be much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance

  9.
Haha all good ideas! might give that a go :) We've got a pretty cool pre-recorded intro sorted too, should be a good gig i hope.

At the rolls royce social club thing in hucknall, and we'll be playing thrash metal/hardcore sort of stuff, we're covering bullet for my valentine's scream aim fire, lord of hate by death angel and we've got two slightly more thrashy originals called sacrifice and from the ashes.
Hucknall! I live there, near the football club. Unforunately I'm with the missus friday night or I would have popped down.

If you're into hardcore punk, my mate is putting on an all dayer Sunday which my band are playing (www.myspace.com/hcalmosthome) in nottingham at Bunker's Hill (In nottingham right near the ice stadium near where academy of sound was opposite the subway)

Don't mean to steal your thread...ooops!
